DESCRIPTION
School-Wide Community PBIS At Westview Elementary, we have embraced a program called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is a program in which we strive to create a positive school environment by establishing and teaching expected student behaviors. We follow the WVE matrix which is located in each classroom in the school. need to progress to fifth grade and middle school. We want the students to use deeper thinking and understand what they are doing and why they are doing these things.
To provide a supportive, interactive, and fun learning environment.

MATH UNITS FOR THE YEAR
UNIT 1 - Place Value and Whole Number Operations (4 weeks)
UNIT 2 - Multiplication and Division (8 weeks)
UNIT 3 – Measurement (4 weeks)
UNIT 4 – Geometric Measurement (4 weeks)
UNIT 5 - Fractions, Decimals, and Equivalents (5 Weeks)
UNIT 6 – Adding, Subtracting, and Multiplying Fractions
(6 weeks)
How does a day in our math classroom look? We use the SC College and Career Readiness Math Standards to guide instruction.

GRADES Homework (Completion) - 5% Classwork – 30% Quizzes – 30% Tests/Major Assessments – 35%
Study guides for tests will be given a week in advance. Quizzes will not have study guides.
HOMEWORK Review Math Notes in Journals nightly to make
sure you have reviewed any new material
Study multiplication and division facts nightly
Once a Week– Content Practice (Worksheet or from the Math book)
Homework is graded on completion; not accuracy.
Email or write a note if you notice specific struggles your child is having – we can work together
COMMUNICATION Please check your child’s agenda nightly!
The navy blue weekly WVE folder contains important information and graded work. Please be sure to review all of the information, sign the white card in the back, and return the next day.
