Lasallian Encounter 2012 - Ipoh, Malaysia. Close to 30 young Lasallians from Singapore and Malaysia converged at La Salle Center in Ipoh from August 18 to 21 for the Lasallian Encounter 2012.

The following schools were represented: St. Michael's Institution (Ipoh), St. Francis' Institution (Malacca), St. Joseph's Institution International (Singapore), St. Xavier's Institution (Penang), St. Paul's Institution (Seremban), and St. George's Institution (Taiping).

One of the annual programs of the La Salle Center in Ipoh, the Lasallian Encounter brings together Catholic students from Malaysia and Singapore with the goal of deepening their understanding of their vocation as members of the Church.

Isaac Stephen, Theresina Jalleh, RJ Kevin and Tihn Chern ably led the group through different sessions and activities that helped them reflect on their role in transforming society following the example of Jesus Christ and St. John Baptist de la Salle. Brs. Matthew, John and Vincent of La Salle Centre were joined by Brs. Arian (St. Joseph's Institution International, Singapore) and Mike (St. Francis’ Institution, Malacca). The Brothers spent time with the group throughout their stay in Ipoh; giving input and sharing their vocation stories.

The young Lasallians were challenged come up with different initiatives that would strengthen the Catholic and Lasallian character of their respective schools. In the following months, the group will help each other set up and strengthen these initiatives. (Br. Arian Lopez)
