Every day over 3,000 babies are killed by abortion. To help stop the anti-life push around the world, the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen encouraged the spiritual adoption of an unborn child. This is done by praying for 9 months that the one particular but unknown child’s life be spared abortion and be allowed to continue to live.
On March 25th, the Feast of the Annunciation, at the 12:10 PM Mass, St. Peter's will begin a sacrificial 9-month prayer for the unborn children in danger of an abortion. Our prayers CAN make a difference between whether a baby will be born … or aborted. Our prayers can also be a form of spiritual support for both of the parents. Please share the love of life given to you by the Lord of all life and join in spiritually adopting a baby.

Lenten Scrutinies for RCIA
The scrutinies, which are solemnly celebrated on Sundays and are reinforced by an exorcism, are rites for self-searching and repentance and have above all a spiritual purpose. The scrutinies are meant to uncover, then heal all that is weak, defective, or sinful in the hearts of the elect; to bring out, then strengthen all that is upright, strong, and good. For the scrutinies are celebrated in order to deliver the elect from the power of sin and Satan, to protect them against temptation, and to give them strength in Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life.
Please continue to pray for our elect who are in the final stages of preparing to enter the Catholic Church this Easter.

STEWARDSHIP OF THE
The Fifth Station
Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus to carry his cross. Are we resentful when we volunteer and others do not? Does it bother us to carry the financial burden of the parish when others who could refuse? We see in Simon, who may have been a reluctant volunteer, a man whose good deed is remembered in his favor for generations. Our good deeds can have a lasting effect as well.
The Sixth Station
Veronica wipes the face of Jesus. Do we know how to receive the kindness of others? Jesus did in his humility. Learning to give is matched by our ability to receive. Are we grateful for the kindness of others even as we are grateful for the kindness of God in our lives? Do we help those in need? Do we see Jesus in the least of our brothers and sisters?
The Seventh Station Jesus falls the second time. Greed causes many people to fall. Jesus rises from the fall, as we are to rise from our sins of greed. Does our greed teach others to fall? Avarice is a capital sin along with pride and envy. Greed causes us to create other sins such as sins against justice and charity. Does our preoccupation with material goods blind us to the reality of God?
The Eighth Station Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem. Jerusalem, as a location, can cause us to think of the whole world. Are we good stewards of the earth? Do we steal from future generations the resources they will need? Do we respect the property rights of others? We are stewards for providence which means that we need to share our benefits with others, especially with the poor of our own locality and beyond.
