3PAR SandBox – What is it?

• A configuration of 3PAR systems,

blades, SAN and LAN that allowsyou to explore a specific featureor function of a 3PAR, to gain andenhance knowledge, enabling youto sell with confidence

• Self guided learning environment – become familiar with theconfiguration and decide how toproceed, refer to the suggestedlearning paths and use theprovided lab and user guides,explore and learn






Group Configuration

Each group has a W2K8R2 blade & ESXi v5 blade, you logon to t

windows host

Credentials - W2K8R2 – administrator/!hpstorage2012, ESXi V5 –root/password

• Group 1- BL1 (W2K8R2) & BL9 (ESXi v5)

• Group 8- BL8 (W2K8R2) & BL16 (ESXi v5)

Connecting to your ESX host

• Group 1 – From windows host login into vCenter (10.238.10.1)datacenter/ESX host

• Group 8 – From windows host login into vCenter (10.238.10.8) datacenter/ESX host

Service Processors – there are 3 VMs

Ground Rules

1. For HP Presales & HP Partners Only (AMS, APJ, EMEA)

2. NOT to be used for customer demos and class training – use SDP or engage HPSD

Marketing3. Please use what you reserve to avoid conflicts

4. There are 8 demo’s (Blade 1thru 8) see the SandBox configuration doc, you can resblade at a time

i. Blade 1-4 have been designated for remote copy – Blade 1&2 for RCFC, Blade 3&4 for RCIP

ii. Each Blade has a corresponding ESX host and VM that you can clone to a 3PAR datastore

5. Please clean-up/undo what you createdi. Once a week the systems will be reset unless advised ahead of time

6. Use space sparingly, use TPVVs – need to co-exist with others7. Please do NOT set virtual locks for long periods - 1 day max

8. Please do NOT modify IP addresses or reboot nodes as others will be impacted

9. Each windows hosts has software, user guides and some hands-on-labs – shortcudesktop

i. c:\software

ii. c:\documents

10. Minimum recommended resolution when connecting is 1280x1024

11. Provide feedback and suggestions via the SDP email you receive after the event12. Play, grow your skills and happy selling
