Officials throughout the city and county, from government, higher education, workforce development, health care, tourism and the military, have joined in a team effort to rebrand Fayetteville. A committee has been formed to develop a unified platform to promote the next chapters of Fayetteville, whose average citizen age of 29.9 is the youngest of any metro in the Carolinas.

In April 2019, Governing magazine, which covers politics and policy management, named Fayetteville “The Most Innovative City in the Country” and cited the city’s long term planning. Fayetteville has received the All-American City Award from the National Civic League three times. It is the sixth largest city in North Carolina. The unemployment rate is 5.2%. It is ranked Top 5 Defense Industry Development area as 8 of the top 10 defense contractors are located there.

FORT BRAGGThe properties are located two miles east of Fort Bragg. Fort Bragg is the largest US Army Base by population, serving a population of 52,280 active duty soldiers, 12,624 reserve components and temporary duty students, 8,757 civilian employees, 3,516 contractors, and 62,962 active duty family members. There are 98,507 Army retirees and family members in the area. Fort Bragg adds an additional $4.5 billion a year into the economy.

DOWNTOWN FAYETTEVILLEDowntown Fayetteville is being shaped into a vibrant town center.
