FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK:
Our next major fundraiser for the school is Steps for Students on Sat-urday, February 15th. Thousands of students, families, faculty and staff from the Archdiocese all gather for a day of fun and competition (but mostly fun!. If you haven’t been to Race Day, please come out and join us. You can still register to run or walk in the race!
If you can’t make it out, consider sponsoring one of our students or faculty members who are plan-ning to attend. The registrant with the most funds raised will be awarded a hover board. So far, Fr. Felix is in the lead with $830!!! Will anyone be able to top that? Wait and see!!!
Mr. Raab, Principal
You are probably very aware of the fact that there are a lot of cold, Strep Throat, and flu germs circulating in our school at this time. This same situation can be found throughout the community, state and even across the country. In order to reduce the number of students, faculty and staff being exposed to these illnesses, we are asking that you care-fully review the attached list that has been provided by the Texas Department of Health. By keeping sick children at home, the chances of spreading the illness is greatly reduced. If your child shows any of these signs while they are at school, we will notify you immediately so that you can take them home until they have recovered. Should They Stay or Should They Go?
Fever of 100.3 degrees F or above
Persistent cough that the child cannot control.
Nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
Diarrhea-frequent, loose, watery stools
Unusual drowsiness or tiredness
Sore throat.
Runny nose (thick green/yellow discharge-non allergenic)
Red, inflamed or discharging eyes (non allergenic). Pink eye must be treated with antibiotic drop/ointment for at least 24 hours before returning to school
Swollen glands around jaw, ears, or neck
An unexplained rash
Symptoms which may suggest an acute illness Conditions needing treatment with an antibiotic may return to the classroom after at least 24 hours of treatment and a de-crease in symptoms.
