Instructor asked them to start the engines , After starting ground to cockpit
there is a fire from engine tail. So they suddenly put the master switch to offand put engine mode selector to crank since this fire was not in core of engine so
fire extinguishers will not help them . They have to blow up the extra fuel in
there engine tail pipe and more over there is no ecam checklist of this only in
QRH. A kind of memory item its better to learn it.
In all this he forgot to put on Manual opening of Start valve.
QRH----------Tail pipe fire---2.23
MAN START -----------OFF ( if doing manual start) otherwise skip this
ENG MASTER AFFECTED-------OFF
AIR BLEED PRESS--------ESTABLISH ( so that you can crank the engine and blow
up the fire and fuel in tail pipe)
BEACON -----ON
ENGINE MODE SELECTOR ---------- ON ( Since bleed has been established )
MAN START -----ON (This will open start valve so that you can rotate/crank the
engine with the help of bleed)
NOW WHEN BURNIG HAS STOPPED :
MAN START ------------------OFF
ENGINE MODE SELECTOR-----NORMAL
So they forgot to put on MAN START pb on and start valve didnt open and so the
engine didnt crank up and EGT shoot up..
Next THING WE DID WAS HIJACKING
THERE CAN BE TWO SITUTION
1ST Hijacker is in cockpit if he is a smart one he chop off your figure if u try to
mess up with transponder . This results in That atc will not believe you..and
you are forced to say soblah blah..
2nd case hijacker is in cabin not in cockpit so dont put 7500 in transponder and
say that your aircraft is being hijacked and he is not in cockpit blah blah..woh
Atc wala soche ga that you are in his influence so he wont belive you, put 7700
distress code to save ur ass
And I also have heard that india has policy not to negotiate with hijackers
directly shoot down the plane.

We did an exercise on Leak measurement valve .
On Toga application your Fmgs enters into Go around Mode how to come out of
thatPut New cruise level in progress page either it will go climb /cruise or
descent phase..
Suppose if have an engine failure and you are only 3000ft and 4000ft above
ground and dont have an apu so you dont require 2 packs , 1 pack is sufficient
you can put off another one and when on approach put other one also off so you
will have better performance on go around..
And in A320 if 2 packs are being fed from from 1 engine bleed then it will put
load on bleed system and possibly pre coolers ( these are systems which initially
drop the major temperature of engine bleed, near about MAX TEMP out OF pre
cooler is 205C after this it will go packs and further cool down and get
conditioned there) temperature might shoot up and then you will lost both
packs.
