President of the Egyptian Arthroplasty group of the Egyptian Orthopaedic Association, and president of the Eastern Society of Bone and Joint Infection, and Founder of Arthroclub Egypt.Graduated in December 1976 from the Faculty of medicine of Ain Shams University, and obtained basic training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Demerdash University Hospital.After qualifying for his master degree in 1981, he obtained further training in Orthopaedics and biomechanics in the University of Bern, Switzerland, and worked as a research fellow for Muller's Institute of biomechanics, till 1983.He moved then to the United Kingdom, where he completed the rotation training scheme in Orthopaedics and Emergency Medicine from the Institute of Orthopaedics, Birmingham University.Since 1988 he returned to the teaching staff of the faculty of medicine in Ain Shams, working up the career from lecturer to professor, where he participated in various local, regional, and international publications and research, spanning the fields of Arthroplasty, Bone Infections, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, and Pain management.In 1998 he founded (Arthroclub), a private non-profit group linked academically to Ain Shams University aiming at advancing arthroplasty concepts in Egypt; which became a milestone in teaching and training many young surgeons in arthroplasty. Presently he is the president of the Egyptian Arthroplasty Group (EAG), the arthroplasty subspecialty group og the Egyptian Orthopaedics Association.Graduated in December 1976 from the Faculty of medicine of Ain Shams University, and obtained basic training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Demerdash University Hospital.
