Greeters for Our New Mass Schedule
As we approach September and the new Mass
schedule, we would like to compile a list of current
greeters as well as new recruits to this welcoming
ministry. Greeters are asked to be at an assigned
door 20 minutes prior to the start of Mass to both
offer welcome, as well as assist visitors to our Parish.
Once we have a list of volunteer greeters, a sign up
list will be available on a monthly basis. If you are
interested or would like more information, please
contact Suzanne Korneliusen, indicating which Mass
(es) one is interested in (4:30, 8:30, 10:30, Holy Days)
as well as convenient contact information. (Email:
[email protected], phone: 225-9081)

Are You Thinking
About the Catholic
Faith?
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…
- Matthew 28:19
One person at a time through faithful witness and
personal invitation! Share our Christian joy with
another:
who has not been baptized and would like to
learn more about the Catholic faith, and possibly
considers becoming a Catholic,
who is baptized Christian of another
denomination who would like to learn more about
the Catholic faith,
who is a baptized in the Catholic Church who has
never received Eucharist or Confirmation and
would like to complete the sacraments of
initiation, or
a child over the age of 7 who has never been
baptized in another Christian faith or has been
baptized Catholic and has never received
instruction on the Catholic faith.
Invite them to consider going through the Rite of
Christian Initiation for Adults and Children (RCIA
and RCIC). Through this process of prayerful support
and guidance, they will be fully initiated to the
Catholic faith by receiving the sacraments of baptism,
Eucharist and Confirmation. For more information,
contact Fr. Edison at 663-3230 x 102.

LIGHTHOUSE CDS Check out the Lighthouse Catholic Media
kiosks and literature racks at the back of
church! Our offerings include many
different CD's, books, and pamphlets.
Some may be familiar with Rosalind Moss, seen on
EWTN and also a participant in a Buffalo retreat day
sponsored by the Station of the Cross (2004?). She
was Jewish, then an evangelical, and finally a Roman
Catholic. Now she is the prioress of a new religious
community in Oklahoma. Hear her story in The
Making of a Jewish Nun, a new CD in our offerings.

Catholic Scripture Study for 2013-14
St. Charles Borromeo parish offers its 8th year of in-depth Cath-olic Scripture Study International studies. This year we will be
studying three Old Testament books: Joshua, Judges, & Ruth.
Joshua is the story of God’s chosen people being brought into the Promised Land, after Moses brought them within sight of the Promised Land. The book of Judges, written by the prophet Samuel, contains the history of what passed under the govern-ment of the judges who ruled Israel before they had kings. The book of Ruth, also written by Samuel, records the story of the Gentile Ruth, a convert to the faith, who married the great grand-father of David, and thus was one of those from whom Christ sprung according to the flesh. She was an illustrious figure of the Gentile church.
The course consists of 28 class sessions that begin in Septem-ber 2013 and end in May of 2014, with suitable breaks for holi-days and school recess. Each class will be offered in duplicate separate sessions–one on Sundays starting at 9:30 am. The same class is also offered on the following Thursday from 6:30 to 8 pm. Participants can attend either the Sunday or Thursday classes.
Registration (after Masses rear of church): August 31/September 1, September 7/8. Classes begin Sunday, Septem-ber 15 at 9:30 am, OR Thursday September 19 at 6:30 pm. All classes will be held in Room 8 .
Study materials cost: $50
