System recovery made
faster through advancedevent monitoring
Sequence of Event RecorderSoftware ModuleI you have ever experienced an unplanned power outage, you know
that it can take hours or days to get the system back up and running.
With the PowerLogic Sequence o Events Recorder (SER) Module,
recovery time can be reduced to minutes. SER is a root-cause analysis
sotware tool ideal or pinpointing the cause o a service disruption in
very large, complex power systems.
Traditionally, perorming the analysis o an outage required personnel
to manually veriy the equipment status and then using a process
o elimination to determine the source o the problem. SER displaystime-stamp sequence o event log inormation accurate to within 1
millisecond and in order o the frst occurrence to show the exact
sequence o alarming indicating the order o the events or equipment
shutdown.
This makes it easy to determine the source o the power outage.
It also allows you to resolve persistent problems, clear aults, and
take corrective action to prevent the problem rom happening again
within a short period o time. SER takes the guess work out o system
recovery thereby improving system availability and reliability or critical
applications.

Features and Benefits: SER consolidates system-wide event records using Global Positioning
Satellite (GPS) technology to synchronize the time clocks throughout
the electrical system or accurate time stamping. Displays the millisecond time stamped events in a standard internet
browser complete with fltering and sorting capabilities to segregateand pinpoint specifc problems in an electrical or production system.
Captures events for entire electrical systems including devices
such as circuit breakers and protective relay operations alongwith the shutdown sequence o generators, compressors,
motors, etc. Supports inputs from various sources such as motors,
generators and protective relays through a physical input/outputconnection or through Modbus communications.
Supports OPC servers and OPC alarm and event clients forthird party sotware support
SER is a standalone module which automatically uploads

Typically, 60% to 70%
o downtime is used
to identiy the source
o an event while the
remaining 30% to 40%is used to actually fx
the problem. SER can
signifcantly reduce
the time it takes to get
your system back up
and running.
