THE UNITED METHODIST YOUTH FELLOWSHIP IN THE PHILIPPINES

RESOLUTION NO. 4, s. 2010-2012

A RESOLUTION OF THANKS AND APPRECIATION

WHEREAS, the National Youth Council of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship in the Philippines (UMYFP)

wishes to express its sincerest gratitude and appreciation to:

The members, Administrative Council headed by Mrs. Lilian Carreon and Administrative Pastor – Rev.

Allan Asuncion of Taytay United Methodist Church, Taytay, Rizal for hosting the Second National Youth

Council Meeting and allowing the use of facilities and providing good accommodation for the

delegates;

Rizal Philippines Annual Conference East for being the host annual conference;

Combined effort of the RPACE churches, RPACE District Superintendents, RPACE UMYF Execom,

National UMYF Execom and Bishop Rodolfo Juan of Baguio Episcopal Area for sponsoring the meals;

Tarlac Philippines Annual Conference for having the biggest delegation for this Second NYCM;

Rev. Zosimo Mabuti, Superintendent of Rizal District for giving the Welcome Address;

Rev. Leyda Yambot, Administrative Pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church for inspiring us

during the Opening Worship;

Taytay UMYF for leading the Praise and Worship during the Opening Worship;

Kuya Jun Diaz and family, Kuya Art and the Operation Mobilization Staff for giving us a lecture

regarding Global Missions and workshop on Creative Evangelism;

All the visitors, alumni, and friends who took time to visit us;

Quezon City Philippines Annual Conference East for gracing the NYCM with their presence for the first

time ;

All the Annual Conference representatives who shared their time, effort and resources for making this

event a resounding success;

The National Executive Committee for spearheading the Second NYCM; and

Above all, to our Almighty God who makes all things good for those who love Him.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that this resolution will be read during the 8AM

Sunday Worship Service at Taytay UMC and copies be furnished to people concerned.

Approved this 6th day of February, 2011 at Taytay UMC, Taytay, Rizal during the Second National Youth Council

Meeting of the biennium 2010-2012.

RESOLUTION NO. 3, s. 2010-2012

A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE THIRD SUNDAY OF JANUARY AS THE NATIONAL UMYFP SUNDAY

WHEREAS, the National Youth Council of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship in the Philippines recognizes

the Third Sunday of January as the National UMYFP Sunday, in commemoration of the First National

Conference of Methodist Youth Fellowship held on January 2 to 5, 1952 at Guimba, Nueva Ecija, as cited in the

UMYFP History;

WHEREAS, upon reaffirming the Resolution No.3, National UMYFP Sunday, which was laid on the table during

the First NYCM last August 2010 at San Leonardo United Methodist Church, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija;

BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be furnished to the Council of

Bishops, National Council on Youth Ministries, Annual Conferences, Districts and Local Chapters for

implementation and appropriate action.

RESOLUTION NO. 5, s. 2010-2012

A RESOLUTION APPEALING TO ALL ANNUAL CONFERENCES TO ELECT YOUTH REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE

PHILIPPINES CENTRAL CONFERENCE DURING ANNUAL CONFERENCE REGULAR SESSIONS

WHEREAS, the United Methodist Church through the United Methodist Book of Discipline ¶256.3 provides the

genuine rights and responsibilities of young people’s (youth and young adult) involvement in the Church’s decision

making;

WHEREAS, further reference is ¶543.1 of the Book of Discipline, which states that the Central Conference shall be

committed for supervision and promotion, in harmony with the discipline and interdenominational contractual

agreements, the missionary, educational, evangelistic, industrial, publishing, medical, and other connectional

interests of the annual conferences, provisional annual conferences, missionary conferences, and missions within

its territory and such other matters as may be referred to it by said bodies or by order of the General Conference;

and it shall provide suitable organizations for such work and elect the necessary officers for the same;

WHEREAS, the Church recognizes the vital role and participation of the young people (youth and young adult) in

addressing different issues affecting them thus giving them seats upon the conduct of the regular sessions of the

District and Annual Conferences;

WHEREAS, the Annual Conference reserves the right to identify and choose its proper representations to the

Philippine Central Conference through deliberate voting;

WHEREAS, upon the motion duly made and seconded, be it;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to appeal before the Annual Conferences to consider electing a youth

representative/s as delegate/s to the Philippines Central Conference sessions;

RESOLVED FINALLY that copy of this resolution be furnished to the Regular Session of the Annual Conferences

and Office of the Episcopal Bishops for their reference and immediate information.

Approved this 6th day of February 2011 at Taytay UMC, Taytay, Rizal during the Second National Youth Council

Meeting of the biennium 2010-2012, and adopted from the 2007 National Council on Youth Ministry

Resolution.

RESOLUTION NO. 6, s. 2010-2012

A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING SI KRISTO HIGIT SA LAHAT AS THE UMYFP OFFICIAL THEME SONG

WHEREAS, the National Youth Council of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship in the Philippines affirms Si

Kristo Higit sa Lahat composed and sung by Mr. Arnel de Pano of Kamuning First UMC as the UMYFP Official

Theme Song;

WHEREAS, the song exemplifies the values and motto of UMYFP: “Christ Above All”;

WHEREAS, the theme song is not in conflict with the UMYFP Constitution and By-Laws regarding the UMYFP

Medley;

WHEREAS, the council calls for all members of the UMYFP to learn the official theme song;

WHEREAS, upon the approved recommendation of the National UMYFP Executive Committee, during the

Second National Youth Council Meeting and with concurrence of all members of the National Youth Council;

BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be furnished to all UMYFP AC

presidents for their reference and appropriate action.
