The 2nd International Conference on Qualitative Research in Nursing and Health (ICQRNH) is a

celebration and gathering of health professionals, academicians, and other members of the

health team in order to further the profession and provide quality health care services to

different types of clientele through qualitative researches. From Chiang Rai, the host of the

1st ICQRNH, Philippines will facilitate the sharing of nursing scholars from all over the world

is sharing their stories from the field on their encounter with qualitative research. The theme”

Adventures in Qualitative Research: Traversing with Trustworthiness Towards Evidence-based

Practice” signifies our relentless search for researches that are not only responsive to the

needs of the society but the need for dependable, confirmable, transferable and credible

research. This bi-annual event is the profession’s contribution in advancing health care

towards building an evidence-based practice while nurturing the culture of inquiry and

innovation.

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

• Engage international qualitative research scholars in a discussion on

methodological, ethical as well as other emerging issues in qualitative research

• Promote qualitative research in informing the practice of nursing and other health

professions.

• Identify how qualitative research can be used in promoting patients’ experiences

within healthcare throughout the continuum of wellness and illness

This conference is designed to address health problems and issues related to nursing,

midwifery, medical, public health and any other related health sciences disciplines. This

conference also gives opportunities nurses and other members of the health team to

disseminate their research in their field of expertise. The speakers will highlight (1)

philosophical foundations of knowledge for nursing and health professions’ practices using

qualitative researches, (2) how qualitative research situates in mixed method

research/multiple sources of evidence, (3) misuses and abuses of qualitative research

methods, (4) analyses and reporting qualitative research findings, (5) trustworthiness in

qualitative research, (6) ethical considerations and (7) challenges to qualitative researchers in

information systems.

Join us in this endeavour and celebrate research excellence with us while experiencing more

fun in the Philippines.

1. Presenters should be present at the assigned room 15

minutes before the presentation.

2. Although the concurrent sessions are centered on typical

oral presentations, ICQRNH allows plenty of time for

discussion between all session participants (audience and

presenters), not just a Q&A between the audience and the

presenters.

3. The session chair/facilitator has the major task of keeping

speakers on time (15 minutes to 20 minutes maximum,

unless instructed) and leading the subsequent discussion.

4. The session chairs will be STRICT in the enforcement of the

time limit. If the presenter goes over, he will be cut short.

ICQRNH believes that great ideas and research can be

communicated in short time intervals.

5. After the presentations are finished, a 15-20 minute-Q&A

between the audience and the presenters is allotted.

6. The session chair will be summarizing the results of the

sessions.

7. Some additional recommendations for the presentations

include the following:

maximum of 15-20 slides

keywords or phrases instead of long text

large (and consistent) font size and graphics (with

good contrast)
