Dear Friends,

Australia’s modular construction and prefabrication industry is growing steadily, with an ambition to achieve 10% of the residential market by 2020. This is with increasing emphasis on intelligent materials, components and subassemblies and the integration of these elements into design, procurement and construction.

At the same time, New Zealand is experiencing an exponential growth in demand for housing especially in Christchurch and Auckland that far outstrips supply due to natural disaster and population growth respectively, making modular and prefabricated housing the most sustainable manner to scale up on New Zealand’s construction needs.

It is with this in mind, that I am proud to partner with Clariden Global again in 2017 to present an even bigger and better event for the 2nd edition of the Modular Construction and Prefabrication ANZ, as an integral platform for the ANZ Construction Industry, you will get to exchange information with your peers about latest breakthroughs in modular and prefabrication construction methodology and to co-create solutions for the industry.

Themed “Scaling New Heights in Building Technology”, the event this year will be focusing on the innovative design techniques and technologies that will aid and accelerate the adoption and implementation of modular and prefabricated construction methodology in the ANZ construction industry.

I invite you to join us to learn about global modular and prefabricated construction trends and connect with top industry leaders who are championing this cause at the 2-day conference sessions. Discover new building techniques and materials at the event exhibition and experience it all first-hand during the post-conference site visit.

I look forward to meeting you at the event!

INTRODUCING MODULAR AND PREFABRICATED CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY & DESIGN

Pre-fabricated buildings is not a new concept, having existed since the early 1900s in the United States. However, it only started to gain prominence until the idea of kit homes was introduced. Such technologies allows for assembly-line production and can be mass-produced at much lower costs and at a faster pace.

Through these morning sessions, you will gain what modular construction and prefabrication are, the current and future trends of such building technologies around the world and explore how to incorporate these building techniques into your architectural designs and supply chain process. As well as the design software requirements and elements that would help enable project delivery such as Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction.

DAY THREE - 2 MARCH 2017

About this tour:

Experience first-hand the manufacturing process of modular construction and prefabricated components. You will understand how pre-fabricated modular components are designed offsite to ensure fit and smooth installations onsite. Understand their quality control processes and the level of design customization that they are able to achieve with this building method.

Established in 2003 by Andrew Fowler and his team, Austruss first emerged as a frames and trusses business, where they honed their craft in taking a manufacturing approach to building, using the knowledge of their team, and the controlled environment of their extensive manufacturing facility to apply a modular approach to construction.

Since 2013, they have built a range of bathroom pods for aged care and education facilities across NSW, and are now extending this approach to range of broader modular construction applications, specifically for the health, aged care and education sectors.

At OneSteel Reinforcing we believe there are three key things steel reinforcing customers need.

First, they need to believe in the technical advice from their supplier. Second, they need to believe in the product quality and specifications. And thirdly, customers need to be able to believe the delivery promises their supplier makes - not empty ones.

OneSteel Reinforcing is best positioned in the Australian market to deliver on all these.

Why? We can draw on our 80 year history in the Australian construction industry so that our experienced technical, R&D and design experts are able to provide prompt, accurate technical advice that is based on real experience - not theories.
