Mayor’s MessageWelcome to the 2009 City of Joondalup Festival.
Now in its 11th year, the Festival remains the largest and most significant community cultural event in Perth’s northern corridor.
The Festival offers our community a smorgasbord of world-class entertainment including live music, street arts, fine food and wine, children’s activities, and of course, the spectacular street parade and fireworks finalé.
We are also extremely proud to host the extraordinary Acrobatics Troupe of Jinan, visiting from Joondalup’s Chinese sister city to perform exclusively at the Joondalup Festival.
The Troupe’s astonishing talents will leave you breathless as they combine the very best of Chinese traditional performance with world-class contemporary circus arts.
The program also includes ARIA award-winning songstress Clare Bowditch, an action-packed youth program, talented community performers, the energy and colour of the Festival Markets, and the physical fun of the Adventure Zone.
We are sure you will find a great deal to delight and entertain you, and hope you will join us as we continue to focus on the future of our wonderful City, and all it has to offer.
Such community events and festivals are not possible without the support of key partners.
I would like to thank our premier partner Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City, and key partners Mindarie Regional Council, Edith Cowan University, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the Community Newspaper Group and the Good Guys, Joondalup.
Troy Pickard Mayor
