    HIGH SHEAR MIXING

    Mesin ini dirancang untuk mengurangi ukuran partikel dan mencampur.

    Metode pencampuran ini memiliki efisiensi yang lebih baik daripada metode

     pencampuran lain. Kecepatan putaran mesin ini 3000-15000 rpm.

       High shear  adalah suatu metode pengadukan, dimana cairan dengan

    kekentalan rendah (biasanya air ditambahkan ke dalam campuran serbuk yang

    telah mengandung pengikat yang kemudian dicampur dengan sisa bahan dalam

    formulasi. !amun, penggunaan high shear mixing   pada kondisi tertentu dapat

    digunakan untuk membantu serbuk yang mempunyai karakteristik khusus"sulit

    tercampur terdispersi ke dalam cairan.

    Komponen utama yang menyusun alat high shear mixer   tersebut yaitu

    sebuah rotor yang berputar dengan kecepatan tinggi dan sebuah komponen

    stasioner yang disebut %uga dengan istilah stator. *aktor utama dari desainmeliputi diameter rotor dan kecepatan rotasi, %umlah baris gigi, sudut dan lebar 

     bukaan antar gigi pada rotor, %arak antara rotor dan stator serta %umlah generator.

     High shear Mixer menyebar, atau mengangkut, salah satu fase atau bahan

    (cair, padat, gas men%adi fase utama kontinyu (cair, dengan yang biasanya akan

     bercampur. 'ebuah high shear   mixer   dapat digunakan untuk membuat emulsi,

    suspensi, lyosols (gas tersebar dalam cairan, dan produk granular. &al ini

    digunakan dalam perekat, kimia, kosmetik, makanan, farmasi, dan industri plastik 

    untuk emulsifikasi, homogenisasi, pengurangan ukuran partikel, dan dispersi.

    ketika salah satu daerah cairan bergerak dengan kecepatan relatif yang berbeda

    untuk daerah yang berdekatan.
