Teacher Instructions:!
1. Print out copies of Pg 2 for your students.2. Tell students to go around the room finding students who didn!t do the things on the list. Teach them how to use the
word sob story. I!m sorry to hear your sob story. Do you have a sob story for me?3. In order to write the name in the blank the student must tell a story when answering Did you..( Not just No, I didn!t.)4. After students have had a chance to go around the room, ask students to share the best sob stories they heard.

For Example: !
Find someone whodidn!tget what he wanted for Christmas.Jesse: Did you get what you asked for this Christmas?
Noah: No I didn!t.Jesse: Oh, no. What did you ask for?
Noah: I asked for an iPod but I got CDs instead. My dad thinks iPods go out of date too often. He thinks my iPod worksfine. I don!t even listen to CDs. I download music. I don!t even have a CD player!
Later...Teacher:What!s the best sob story you heard today, Jesse?
Jesse: Noah had a sob story. He wanted a new iPod, but his dad said no. His dad thinks iPod models change tooquickly . Poor Noah. He got new CDs instead of a new iPod. He doesn!t even have a CD player.
Teacher 2 Teacher:
As your students ask each other questions, go around the room and help correct question structure.Make sure students are asking questions with Did: Did you get what you asked for?
