The aim of this document is to inform you about all the procedures that you have to expect since your enter Barcelona FIR until you arrive at your are on blocks. You will enter Barcelona FIR via NILDU intersection, and then you will expect BISBA3Y or BISBA1T STAR for the RWY’s 25R/25L (West configuration – WRL), or BISBA1S for RWY 07L/07R (East configuration – ELR). Remember that the maximum flight level in BISBA must be FL250 with the west (WLR) configuration in use. For the east (ELR) configuration the maximum altitude in BISBA is FL 270 The distance between NILDU and BISBA is about 14nm. Our plan of action is to divide in two parts all the inbound traffic from BISBA in order to make easier the ATC operations in the final approach sector (Barcelona Director). Barcelona Final Approach (Barcelona Director)

All the traffics have to call Barcelona Final Approach (119.100 MHz) with callsign only in order

to maintain the fluency in the communications. All the traffics will be vectorized to the

localizer. There will be no ILS published approaches.

BISBA1S (RWY 07L/07R)

•The speed restrictions for BISBA1S are the following:

• IAS 250KT by the SLP

• IAS 220KT at SLL

BISBA1N (RWY02) (Only from 2100UTC with the night configuration in use)

Speed adjustment:

Within Barcelona TMA, unless otherwise advised by ATC, speed adjustment under radar control on departures and arrivals to Barcelona shall be in accordance with the following:

IAS 250 kt below FL100, in all departures.

IAS 230 kt in holding, at FL140 or below.

IAS 250 kt on SLP.

Speed adjustment on approach:

IAS 220 kt when leaving an IAF.

ATC will request slow down to 170 kt/180 kt at the beginning of turning

to intercept ILS/LOC.

IAS 160 kt when crossing 8 DME ILS on final approach; this speed shall

be maintained as far as 4 NM from the threshold.

Aircraft with a cruising IAS below those indicated above, shall maintain cruising speed up to the adjustment point of their concern.

ATC shall be informed of the speeds that may be maintained, if unable to comply with the speed adjustments above.

Ground Movement Standard Procedure

Arrivals from runway 25R should vacate runway on the right. If arrivals are from 07L, turn

left.

In case of arrivals after 21:00Z, night configuration will be active, so arrivals from 02 should

vacate the runway on the left.

Try to vacate runway as soon as possible, traffic on final approach will be between 2 and 4nm,

so to avoid

After runway vacating: hold position, contact LEBL_GND (121.700) and wait ATC instructions

for continuing taxi to Terminal 2 (Ramp 2).

Standard taxi procedure:

The standard procedure for taxi to Ramps 2, 3 and 4 is depicted in the airport sketch. “S”

Taxiway will be used to taxi from E to W, “T” taxiway will be used to taxi from W to E. “U”

taxiway will be used on arrivals from RWY 02, to join “S” taxiway.

Standard aircrafts should expect Gates D, E, F to Ramp 2.

Heavy aircrafts should expect Gate H to Ramp 3 or 4.

Runway 25L will be active for departures from Barcelona, so expect simultaneous operations.
