USEThe water cooled packaged DYNACIAT chillers-heaters LGseries of CIAT are specially designed to supply chilled wateror hot water with a middle capacity for air conditioning applications systems encountered in collective and commercial buildings , as well as industrial premises and processes. These packaged units must be settled in standard indoor ina technical plant, sheltered against adverse weather andfrost. To operate on COOLING mode, these units must be cooledby a water circulation coming from an external source, likeunderground water or city water if using a water flow controlvalve, or connected to an external water drycooler or acooling tower.
On a water supply, the LGP series can be used as a heatpump during winter time.
Connected to an heating or cooling floor, fan coil units or onan air handling unit, an heat pump series LGP allows the heating and the air conditioning of buildings thanks to a setof valves located on the water circuit (not supplied). Each unit is assembled, internally wired (logic and startingbox), charged with refrigerant, and is subject to a operationtest in the factory. The installation work is simple, and the only operations required on spot are field electrical wiring and water pipingconnections.

MINIMUM WATER PIPES VOLUMEThe Connect controller is equipped with an anticipation logic allowing high flexibility in adjusting the set points according to theparameters drifting, in particular for low water volume hydraulic installations. An adapted management of the compressors operating periods avoids therefore the start of anti-short cycle functions, and inmost cases, the requirement of a buffer tank.
Notes :Industrial processes which require a high stability of water temperatures or installations with high thermal load variation can privilege the installation of a water buffer tank.

Installation recommendations
Instructions for water quality criteriaWARNING : A water filter (600 microns) must be mounted on the unit inlet by the installer.Correct and specified operation along with the assurance of reasonable life expectancy from the chiller-heater is significantlydependent on the water circuits, specially if the water quality is allowed to cause scaling, corrosion, the formation of algae growth or the establishment of micro-organic growth. The water quality must be absolutely analyzed to ensure that it is suitable for use on the machine, and to establish that chemical treatment will be sufficient to hold the water quality to acceptable limits and if it will be necessary to install asoftening/demineralision process. This water analysis must confirm or not the compatibility of the water used on the spot with the following schedule of the different materials existing on the machine CIAT :- copper tubes 99.9% brazed with copper and silver filler,- depending from models, bronze threaded connexions or steal flange couplings,- exchangers with plates and connexions in stainless steal AISI 316 - 1.4401 brazed with copper and silver filler.Caution : the no respect of these instructions will avoid immediately the warranty of the chiller.
Lifting and handling operationsWork with the best safety conditions for people during the lifting and handling operations.Follow absolutely the lifting instructions provided on the machine and the Installation, Operating, Commissioning andMaintenance instructions manual.Properly plan to ensure an accessible route to the place of installation before moving the machine.Always lift the unit in a vertical manner, and In any case the machine can be bent or put on an horizontal position.
Location of the machineDYNACIAT units are designed to be positioned indoor in a technical plant.Frozen protections have to be included.A great attention must be paid to accessing the unit for the service space necessary for the maintenance, also on the top.The machine has to be mounted on a level, non combustible flat and horizontal floor with a foundation capable of supportingthe operation weight.
Countermeasures against the noise level of the auxiliaries like pumps are recommended. So before the installation, prevent with a sound specialist the different possible sources of noise transmission, depending of themachine room and its design. Its NECESSARY to fit the pipework with rubber expansion joints (optional equipment).
Venting of technical plantIn accordance with the regulations on the installation spot, a fresh air supply system may be installed to avoid dangerous situation or no comfort in case of refrigerant leakage from the cicuit of the machine.
Installation of the accessories :Several optional accessories can be separately delivered from the unit, to be mounted on spot on the machine.Follow absolutely the instructions of the Installation, Operating, Commissioning and Maintenance manual
Field electrical wiring :Follow absolutely the Installation, Operating, Commissioning and Maintenance instructions manual. All necessary instructions for electrical connections are detailed on the wiring diagrams attached to the unit.(They must be strictly followed)The connections must respect the good engineering practices and be conform to norms and regulations in force.Field electrical wiring on the spot :. main electric power supply,. remote control of the machine (if necessary). free contacts informations (optional). It is important to note that the unit is not protected against lightning transients on the electrical supply.Accordingly, the installation must be fitted of apparatus to furnish an adequate transient protection, and such devices must beincorporated in the field power electric box.

Piping connections :Follow absolutely the Installation, Operating, Commissioning and Maintenance instructions manual. All piping shall be properly aligned and graded to a drain valve to permit complete drainage of the system. All pipes must beinstalled and connected to the machine ensuring that complete access for service is provided and that all panels, then coveredwith a thermal insulation.Adequately support and brace the piping independently of the unit to avoid vibrations and strain on the piping connections.
Isolating valves and manual valves for water flow adjustment must also be installed.- Field water connections required on the spot :. water supply of the pipes installation check-pressure reducing valve,. evaporator, condenser and water drain,- Provide the accessories necessary for all hydraulic circuits, for example :. a cooling water flow control valve, thermostatic type, mounted on the inlet side or outlet side of the condenser,. water expansion tank,. drain valves on pipes bottom points to extract all the water,. exchangers stop valves and water filter,. air purge valves on pipes top points,. check that there is a sufficient water volume in the installation (if necessary provide a storage tank),. rubber expansion joints on the exchangers inlet and outlet water side.. thermowells at each inlet and outlet connection for measurement during commissioning and maintenance procedure.Caution :- Water circuit pressure do not exceed 4.0 bar,- Expansion tank mounted before water pump,- Do not install any valve on the expansion tank.- Be sure to install the water circulating pumps immediately on the exchangers water inlet side.- Be sure that the water pressure at the suction of each circulating pump is equal or higher than the minimum pressure NPSHrequired, particularly in case of an "open" type circuit.- Referring the technical conditions, the water quality criteria have to be analyzed.- The frozen protection of the unit and the hydraulic piping is necessary, like the possibility of a water drain of the circuit. In case of use of glycol for a protection against freezing, it is absolutely necessary to control the physical properties and theconcentration before commissioning.- Before making final connection to the chiller-heater, the piping must be flushed with clean water to remove debris in the cir-cuit.
Start upThe commissioning of DynaCiat machines must be made by CIAT or by a company agreed by CIAT.Follow absolutely the Installation, Operating, Commissioning and Maintenance instructions manual.Non exhaustive list of operations to be carried out during commissioning :- Check the correct location of the machine- Verification of the electrical supply protection- Verification of the phases and correct rotation direction- Verification of the electrical connections on the unit- Verification of correct sense of water circulation on the unit- Verification of the water circuit cleanliness- Water flow adjustment to the specified value- Verification of the refrigeration circuit pressures- Verification of the correct compressors rotation direction- Verification of the water pressure drops and water flows- Completion of running parameters check list
Maintenance operationsThe machine require specific routine maintenance operations which must be provided by authorized service agents agreed byCIAT.A report of the running parameters must be completed on a special form "CHECK LIST" which may be directed to CIAT.For this operation, refer and follow absolutely the instructions of the Installation, Operating, Commissioning and Maintenanceinstructions manual. It is necessary to take out a maintenance contract of the unit with a specialist on refrigerating machines agreed by CIAT, including the period of warranty.
DYNACIAT LGN SERIES
Refrigeration connections- Follow absolutely the installation, Operating, Commissioning and Maintenance instructions manual.- The pipes must be realised in refrigerant quality copper and following the stat of the art..- As those units has been designed for a connection to a removed condenser not supplied by CIAT, refrigerant connections aswell as commissioning will not be carried out by us.- The pipe runs should be designed carefully and bearing in mind the requirements to facilitate the oil return to the compressor andpressure drops which can impair the performances.
