Dear Ms. Degollado:

Thank-you so very much for the outstanding manner in which you covered our first meeting of the Neighbors Against Crime Group. Because of your reporting, we have been contacted by many other south side citizens who share the same concerns,

We are currently working on plans for our second meeting. We expect to have speakers from both SAPD and Bexar County Sheriffs GANG INTELLIGENCE do a visual program.

Ms. Degollado, we are true fans of Channel 12 and have always preferred the news coverage your station provides. We have all commented on how much we enjoyed hearing the snappy opening your anchor people would use “KSAT News begins - RIGHT NOW.” (Some of us noticed how the other stations tried using a similar announcement.) We are pleased with Channel 12’s latest idea of reporting community concerns, You have given us another reason to keep watching your station.

Again, we want to express our sincere appreciation for your assistance in our efforts to deter crime in our community. We hope to see you again.

Subject: Appreciation for an Outstandingly Superior Quality Performance by Steve Browne

Dear Mr. Joslyn:

This letter is to express gratitude and appreciation for KSAT’s policy of making available KSAT personalities as guest speakers to community groups and more specifically for the exceptionally fine success of Steve Browne in speaking to the over age 55 group, namely the Colonial Classics, of Colonial Hills United Methodist Church, on Monday 10 January 2000.

Steve’s audience of some 80 plus people was thoroughly and cheerfully delighted with his performance in telling about his career in weather forecasting, about the science of weather forecasting, and about the joys he derives from weather reporting. Know that on the audience satisfaction scale of 1 to I O , Steve scored a solid I O ! Steve is a winner!!

Please add to the many congratulatory comments Steve received today from his Colonial Classics audience by passing along to him these additional praises for his time and the enlightened enthusiasm and humor he placed into his delivery to Colonial Classics.

Dear KSAT,

I would like to thank you for your donation to the Fraternity of Phi Gamma

Delta’s Bike to the Beach last spring. Our annual Bike to the Beach allows the

Children’s Shelter of San Antonio to buy clothes and shoes for needy children across the

San Antonio area. Without donations like yours, this would not be possible. Thank you

Dear Jim:

Thank you for your partnership with the Cancer Center Council, the Cancer Therapy and Research Center, and the San Antonio Dermatological Society for the 13th annual Skin Cancer Screening Clinic. On Saturday, May lst, our 17 volunteer physicians screened 672 people, most of whom came as a direct result of your promotion of this event.

Please see the enclosed list of what the doctors found, the number of patients, and how they became aware of the screening clinic. We know that your participation brought this event t o the attention of many in your viewing audience, and quite possibly will have a direct effect of saving lives because of early detection of various forms of skin cancer.

We thank you for your enthusiastic and vital participation in this community service. On behalf of the 57 volunteers of the Cancer Center Council who worked on this project, we extend to you our sincere thanks and appreciation, and we hope to partner with you again to increase public awareness about skin cancer.

MESSAGE: Thank you so much for staying on the air for extended periods of time to bring us coverage of the flood.

It was helpful having this site to go to in order to get additonal information. It helped to keep friends and family informed out of state. I flipped between the stations and there was a difference. If it had not been for all stations covering the event we would have missed important and vital information.

I want you to know that I speak for many when I say Thank you for the time you spent away from your families to bring information to us. WE appreciate what you did. Thank you for keeping us safe and informed. Some of the on-the-scene pictures were awesome. It was so helpful to be able to see what was going on around us that we were not aware of.

I was most impressed with the way the media was able to work with city officials and rescue workers in bringing us infomation. They worked as a team and a united resource that kept us safe and out of harms way.

I hope that you can be recognized for your outstanding contribution to our city during c

time of need. I was most impressed.

Mr. Browne,

I would like to Thank You! for your coverage of the storm Monday evening. I had received a weather alert stating that a severe storm was heading towards Hondo. so I decided to leave work a little early to prepare for it. When I got home my family were already watching your weather report. By watching your weather reports. I was able to contact my brother (who lives about two miles out of Hondo, in a double- wide) to inform him of the weather conditions. Right before the electricity went out, your stated that a severe storm was heading west on Highway 90. We were prepare for what was heading our way because of you.

On October 12, your newscast was a lifesaver -- you were the only one to inform us of two (2) tornadoes heading down Highway 90.

Thank you1

Just wanted to say thank you

I am a happily married father of 2 who is relieved to hear such a respectful and entertaining show in the morning. In an era where people will do anything for ratings, if it means cursing with no regard, or degrading others. But cutting through all this filth, you guys shine like a huge star for every hard working Rmerican who cares for their family and what they are exposed to. You understand your influence as a radio station and take that into account when doing your show. I listen to all types of music but, every morning I turn on yall’s program in the house, truck and work place because I know yall will show that professiona1,isrn and respect are alive and well in America.

God Bless you and your program and I am spreading the word

Thank you,

Mr. Ben Reed General Manager Cox Radio 8 122 Datapoint San Antonio, TX

While driving yesterday near the noon hour, radio station KONO played our national anthem. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the playing of the anthem. During these difficult and uncertain times, the playing of the national anthem reminds your listening audience of our country’s strcngth. It rallies pride and patriotism and gives our community assurances that though the times have changed since September I 1“’ our country remains the land of the free and the home of the brave.

I know the station could have played another song or sold the air time to an advcrliscr. Your playing ofihe national anthem demonstrates patriotism. We often think that only people shmv character and integrity. Your radio station demonstrated character and integrity beyond the call of duty i n our community.

I don’t know if you have received any letters or calls about this, but let me assure you that t h e is no doubt in my mind that hundreds and hundreds----if not thousands----of people in your listening audience enjoyed hearing the national anthem. I know it gave them feelings of patriotism. pride and security. I hope you continue this practice. Thank you from me and on behalf of everyone who listened and appreciated your playing of the national anthem.

Unfortunately, this letter cannot be shared with your listening audience under our code of b ethics, but nothing prevents me from teliing you that the playing of the national anthem was nothing less than a class act.

Dear Mr. Bowka,

For me Fiesta 2003 contains many fond me

While these memories are still kesh, I wanted to

Fiesta San Antonio C.ommission we were able to subsidize and oversee

DWARD G. STEVES EF EXECUTIVE OFFICER continuing to help make Fiesta what it is. Through KCJZ’s support of the

over 95 events. These events provide an economic impact in our community of well over 250 million dollars. But much more important than the money, is the development within our community.. . a community that congeals once a year during Fiesta. No amount of money can buy that.

Fiesta Commission President Irma Flores, once said, “Fiesta was like a Salsa”. Salsa contains onions, red peppers, green peppers and tomatoes. Each vegetable on its own may be interesting, but when put together “with care”, collectively becomes irresistible. You have helped The Fiesta Commission and our Participating Organizations put on a huge event “with care” and continue to make Fiesta irresistible. And for that.. .

I thank you and Viva Fiesta,

Dear Alyce:

On behalf of Los Compadres and the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, thank you for sponsoring our 14* annual Mission Bike Tour.

Your very fabulous contribution of radio promotion, on-site broadcasting and gift prizes helped make this event a great fundraiser for Los Compadres and our treasured missions. The 14" annual Bike Tour was a smashing success, in spite of the rainy weather. We actually had over 250 cyclists and volunteers brave the inclement weather and ride the Mission Trail!

This event has grown and it is now eagerly awaited each fall. The success of the Mission Bike Tour is due largely to your dedication and support. Please accept our thanks for your many, many donations - you are helping preserve a significant part of our heritage, the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.

Kristen Brassell Promotions Director K C W FM 8122 Datapoint, Suite 500 San Antonio, TX 78229

Dear Kristen.

Thank you for supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation's "Pink Ribbon Challenge." benefiting women in need of early breast cancer detection.

KCW's commitment during October greatly helped thebreastcancersite.com reach, and surpass, this year's goal of funding 250 mammograms. Because of your station's support and your loyal listeners' generous participation, over 300 low-income, minority, homeless and working-poor women will now receive free mammograms.

One in eight women either have or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. If it's detected early enough, however, the five-year survival rate is 95 percent. Mammograms are one of the best early detection methods, yet many women go without because they don't have the necessary medical resources. This is why NBCF focuses on funding free mammography programs across the nation.

NBCF is always looking for opportunities to distribute educational materials and for support during its fundraising events. In the future should you again want to support a top national charity geared totally toward women, please don't hesitate to contact Janelle Hail, NBCF president, or me personally.

1'11 be in touch for next year's NBCF 2004 Pink Ribbon Challecge!

Kind regards,

Jean + Lange

Dear Media Friends,

2003 was a “beny” good year! Thanks to Mother Nature for great weather, to the spirit of commitment and cooperation l7om our fiends, and to the phenomenal coverage of the South Texas media, the 56Ih Annual Poteet Strawberry Festival was an overwhelming success.

Attendance was record-breaking with an estimated 135,000 guests entering our Festival Grounds. Our local non-profit organizations, which operate our food and beverage booths, were extremely pleased with gross sales of over $528,000. With their proceeds, they are able to fund their benevolent projects throughout the year. The annual Festival is the largest revenue generator in Poteet and it perpetuates the generous scholarship program for local graduates.

Please accept the sincere appreciation from the PSFA Board of Directors for all you have done to insure the continued prosperity of the Poteet Strawbeny Festival.

“Berry” truly yours,

U Nita Harvey
