The mission of the USHJA International Hunter Committee is to advance the sport of show hunters and to bring it to the international level. This committee is dedicated to preserving:

• The traditional principles of hunter riding • The ideals of brilliance, correct jumping style, and the athletic ability of the show hunter • Sportsmanship and the welfare of the show hunter • True collaboration of horse and rider at the highest level of training and competition.

The popularity of the International Hunter Derby Program prompted USHJA to develop a separate series of competitions modeled after the Derby but geared toward the up-and-coming horses and riders. The National Hunter Derby Program was launched in 2010 to provide both horses and riders a place to gain experience in Derby competition at a lower height and difficulty level. The program has enjoyed continued success and growth throughout the current competition year.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is a distribution service that operates in cooperation with more than 130 partner agencies throughout a service area that spans over 90,000 square miles. Through these services, the food bank provides assistance to more than 97,000 people each month, half of those are children and seniors.

Through the fundraising efforts of the Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada will continue working to end hunger in our region through direct services, advocacy, outreach, and education.
