In 2019 RenewableUK presents the 17th annual offshore wind energy conference and exhibition. Taking place over two days, 25 – 26 June in London, this event welcomes the global offshore industry to the capital – in one place at one time.

Bloomberg New Energy Finance anticipates that the global offshore wind market will grow to 115GW by 2030 – a six-fold increase in 12 years!

The UK has installed more offshore wind capacity than any other country (7.9GW), and this is set to grow exponentially in the years ahead, as the Government has committed to holding auctions for new contracts to generate power from offshore wind every 2 years, with the next one coming in 2019. The opportunities are exciting, international and transformative. The ramp-up required will be significant – a golden age for offshore wind.

The UK offshore wind industry is working with Government on a transformative Sector Deal to deliver thousands of additional skilled jobs in coastal areas, and billions of pounds worth of export opportunities. With this deal the industry

aims to generate one third of the UK’s electricity from offshore wind by 2030.

With the UK, Northern Europe and China driving installations, and the US and Taiwan’s gigawatt markets emerging in the next decade, offshore wind is going global.
