The Friends of Manchester Golf Outing

started in 1990 thanks to a vision

by Ken Metzger ’67 and Til ’47 and

Dortha Martz ’47 King.Thefirst

outing attracted 40 golfers and raised

$300 for the Manchester University Athletic

Department. The event has grown in

participation and popularity and, in

2009, after 20 years, the golf outing

raised $123,200 and surpassed the

$1 million mark in contributions.

In 2010, organization of the event was

passed on to the Manchester Athletic

Department, keeping the vision of Ken,

Dortha and Til alive.

Friends of Manchester Golf Outing.

This year’s outing is Friday, June 14, 2013,

at the beautiful and challenging Bridgewater

East Golf Club in Auburn, Ind. Enjoy a great

day playing golf, reminiscing with old friends

and making new ones! Lunch, dinner and

prizes are included.

All proceeds and contributions support

Spartan student-athletes, and help to

create strong programs and championship

teams by providing equipment, uniforms

and improvements to facilities.

What a great reason to spend the day

on the golf course!

with four-member teams. Incomplete

foursomes will be matched with other players.
