1. NCL Processing in 2012

• 10,512 new NCL available from INIS (Vol. 43/01 to 43/39)

• From 48 countries or organizations• Full-Texts contained in 7,678 PDF files

• Input mostly in PDF => Quality Control (QC)• NCL input in hard copy => Full Digitization(Digitization = Scanning + Image Enhancement + OCR +

PDF output + QC)

2. Microfiche Digitization Project

Started in 2003• Digitize the INIS microfiche collection• Improve on-line access to full-texts • Ensure long-term preservation of the digital

collection• Done in close collaboration with INIS

Member States to prevent duplication of digitization efforts

• INIS Volume 1 to 27 (1970-1996)• All NCL distributed on microfiche• Whole collection:

• 312,000 NCL reports• Over 1,000,000 physical microfiches• 500,000 NCL bibliographic records• Estimated 17 million pages

MF Digitization Project – 2012 only

• Jan – July 2012 (Progress and Activity Report) :• 20,434 PDF files added from digitized

microfiches• Over 843,000 pages of full-texts

• August – September 2012:• 4,250 more PDF files added from

digitized microfiches• Over 266,000 pages of full-texts

• Since 2003:• 279,427 PDF files from digitized

texts• 340 GB of data• 81% of the MF collection has been
