Design of CRCP Reinforcement

Goal: provide sufficient reinforcement to

– Produce a desirable crack pattern

• Crack spacing between 3.5 and 8 ft

– Keep transverse cracks tightly closed

• Maximum crack width less than 0.4 in

– Keep steel stresses within allowable levels
