The pair was arrested on Friday 15 April 2016, following a tip-off. The arrest followed after a 42-year old man from Meriting, just outside Rustenburg, opened a case of be- ing defrauded of R370 000.00 – his pension money. “The 42-year old man started con- sulting the fraudulent healers since August 2015 – after he saw their services advertised in pamphlets,” Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone, po- lice spokesperson, reported. During one of his consultations with the fraudsters, he was advised to resign from his work – so that his ancestors would double his pen- sion money. He resigned in De- cember 2015 and withdrew all his hard-earned money. The two sus- pects offered to take him home – and even let him place his cash in one of their safes. He was told not to open the safe – as the two false traditional healers had to perform one last ritual. After a few days, he opened the safe, and came to re- alise that he was tricked.
