BULLETIN NUMBER: B135/B138 - 012 REISSUE + 10/10/2005 APPLICABLE MODEL: GESTETNER - DSM635/DSM645 LANIER - LD135/LD145 RICOH - AFICIO 2035E/2045E SAVIN - 4035E/4045E SUBJECT: SC990, BLACK LINES, LASER SYNCH ERROR OR DOOR OPEN SYMPTOMS: The unit may exhibit the following symptoms:

Random black lines along the main scan direction Laser synchronization error (SC322, SC326) Software Performance Error (SC990), [ref. B135/B138 Troubleshooting Guide] Door open is displayed Add toner condition will not reset Jam condition will not reset

CAUSES:

Toner covers the contacts of the upper right cover switch. Improper wiring of Front Door Safety Switch. In the process of replacing the Front Door Safety

Switches, the left most switch (3 wire switch) can be wired incorrectly. If the switch is wired correctly IOB, CN201, pin 1 will have +24v dc when the front door is open. Correct the Front Door Switch wiring if the voltage readings are not correct.

PRODUCTION COUNTERMEASURE: Four seals have been added to the upper inner cover and frame as shown in the illustration below starting with the serial numbers listed in Units Affected.

FIELD COUNTERMEASURE: Add the four seals as shown in the illustration (See page 1) to the upper inner cover and frame. GENERAL: The following parts updates are being issued for all B135/B138 Parts Catalogs.
