TAKE YOUR CAREER FORWARDSCareer progression is the most common reason for engaging in postgraduate study. It shows employers that you are committed and dedicated to moving onwards and upwards in your career - it shows that you are serious. Not just that, but it may qualify you for a higher level management position if the job you are wanting to progress to has prerequisites.

INVEST IN YOUR OWN PERSONAL DEVELOPMENTHow much you progress in your area of expertise is up to you and usually people who upskill are self-motivated. But regardless, if the reason you are considering postgraduate study is career driven or purely personal, it often has indirect benefits that naturally flow into your job, such as better time management, enhanced presentation and writing skills.

Not to mention the opportunity to expand both your professional and personal network. Bond University offers the opportunity to influence your future with a variety of postgraduate programs available and many of our masters programs can be completed in just a year, so you will be prepared for success, sooner.

TIMING IS EVERYTHINGOur flexible subject offerings allow you to tailor your studies to your specific interests or work requirements. You will also benefit from preferred access to enrichment opportunities such as international study tours, global conferences, internships with industry leaders and extensive clinical placements. At Bond, we understand the challenges of combining postgraduate education with work and family commitments, so we offer intensive mode class timetables that deliver all the benefits of Bond’s face-to-face learning with minimum disruption to your schedule.

THE POSTGRADUATE ADVANTAGELifelong learning is the way of the future.

Whether you need to develop new skills to redirect your career or gain deeper insights to help you advance, ongoing education is an absolute necessity in today’s constantly changing workplace. In an increasingly fierce and competitive job market, any edge is a leg up.

YOUR TIME COMMITMENTOur standard 12-subject masters programs can be completed in 16 months (four semesters) or as little as 12 months. This requires a full-time study load of three to four subjects per semester with each subject requiring, on average, one two-hour lecture and one two-hour tutorial per week. You will also need to allocate approximately six hours per subject, per week, for at-home preparation, additional reading and assignments. This will vary from subject to subject and depend on the timing within the semester. We also offer the option of part-time study with a reduced subject load plus some after hours and intensive mode subjects in some degrees which may fit in better with work and life commitments.

START-UP ESSENTIALSWe appreciate that it may be some years since you were in a classroom; so we offer a network of support systems to help you find your feet. These include academic skills workshops, computing support, personal counselling and the professional employment services of our on-campus Career Development Centre. We also understand that not all postgraduate candidates will have a formal undergraduate qualification. Entry requirements for most of our programs allow consideration for relevant work experience and offer pathways.

PERSONAL ATTENTION MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCEOur personal approach to learning sets us apart. One of the key benefits of studying in small classes is the relationships you build with fellow students through our dynamic discussion-based lectures and tutorials. You will bounce ideas off of each other and devise collaborative solutions - it is almost like having your own personal consulting group.

The Master of Architecture at the Abedian School of Architecture is designed to develop the emerging architectural professional to be fearless in their design ability, as well as possess the confidence to change the world and the habitats of the future through their creative design skills, imaginative vision, strategic thinking and technical proficiency. Delivered through a comprehensive design studio environment, current issues are debated through historical and philosophical architectural thought as well as contemporary states of urban habitation, challenges to a sustainable ecology and the ramifications of modern technology. Professional architectural concerns in law, contracts and ethics are also examined which prepare you for the commercial world of architectural practice.

The Graduate Diploma in Architecture is a pathway qualification for students who have already completed an undergraduate degree in a field other than architecture. Students study for 2 semesters full-time to acquire foundation knowledge in design, history, construction technology, communications, and urban sustainability. After completion of the Graduate Diploma in Architecture, approved students may then continue on to the accredited Master of Architecture (SD-93017) four-semester professional program. Students may commence the program in either January or May. The Graduate Diploma is delivered in a creative studio-based environment focusing heavily upon design through hands-on and digital making with state-of-the-art tools. Project-based design studios focus upon real-world scenarios with specific attention to fundamentals of architectural design including materiality, landscape, and/or spatial atmospheres. Graduates will display foundation skills in architectural design that are creative, critical, analytical, and spatial, as well as basic historical, theoretical, climate/environmental, technical and disciplinary knowledge from core studies. $15,750

This one-year program begins with eight separate micro-credential subjects in important and in-demand aspects of Building Information Modelling, Lean Construction and Integrated Project Delivery. Additionally, it engages students in a challenging capstone project to prepare them for careers as Managers of the modern construction and infrastructure project design and delivery systems, which are rapidly becoming mandatory on both government and major private projects.

This cutting edge program has been designed in strong collaboration with industry to assist construction and other built environment professionals to upskill in order to comply with the stringent practice requirements being demanded by government and knowledgeable private sector clients regarding the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), Lean Construction Practice (Lean) and Integrated Project delivery (IPD) in optimised construction project delivery. The Master of Building Information Modelling and Integrated Project Delivery program prepares students for advanced involvement as relevant BIM/Lean/IPD Managers in their work environment, for the benefit of projects and their stakeholders. The program is delivered in intensive mode and has the objective of preparing industry professionals to serve as BIM/Lean/IPD managers. While the course does cover various BIM-related technologies, it does not prepare

students to be specialist technicians in the niche areas of the technologies covered by the curriculum. The program includes two capstone subjects (total of 40 credit points) in which students work in teams on a realistic BIM / Lean / IPD project that requires application, analysis and synthesis of complex ‘project’ data. The program components align with the BIM Framework of buildingSMART Australasia, the open standards of buildingSMART International, the principles espoused by the Lean Construction Institutes of Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and internationally recognised principles of IPD.

• Developed in collaboration with industry to meet demands of government and industry

• Micro-credentials for each of the eight introductory modules form the foundation for advanced studies and practical experience leading to successful completion of this Masters program

• You can complete in just three semesters (1 year full-time)• Highly practical and interactive learning, with studio based

capstone projects to reinforce assimilation of knowledge, and convert it to finely honed management skills for practical application in the BIM and IPD environments

Project Management is the perfect complementary degree because the program has excellent theoretical knowledge and practical skills, teaching you to plan and deliver projects on time, within budget and to scope. This is something that all managers and leaders need to understand no matter what industry they are in.

What makes it an even better program is that most of the professors have had industry experience and so they are able to integrate their experiences into the assignments for the class.

After originally pursuing a career in journalism, I decided to chase my passion and enter the film and television sector. Having left university with a degree in film and tv production, I diversified my skillset by moving to New York to study acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre. I decided to enrol in postgraduate studies at Bond University after realising I lacked a detailed understanding of the business operations behind the industry. I graduated from Bond University’s MBA program in 2002 before starting a film and media production company specialising in TV commercials, music videos and feature films.
