SEC TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Texas A&M University will serve as host of the 2021 Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday through Saturday at E.B. Cushing Stadium. The meet begins at 2 p.m. CT on Thursday, 1:45 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Live results can be found at SECsports.com and 12thMan.com.

The SEC Championships will be streamed live on SECN+ Thursday at 5:40 p.m. CT and Friday at 4:35 p.m. The meet will air live on the SEC Network Saturday at 5 p.m. The broadcast talent includes Dwight Stones, Dan O’Brien, John Anderson and Jill Montgomery.

A total of 16 SEC men’s and women’s track and field teams are ranked among the nation’s top-25 teams, according to the latest national rankings announced Monday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

A nation-leading eight SEC men’s programs are ranked in the top-25, including No. 1 LSU. Florida is ranked No. 8, Texas A&M is No. 10, Alabama is No. 11, Arkansas is No. 13, Tennes-see is No. 14, Georgia is No. 16 and Kentucky is No. 18. No other conference has more than five men’s teams in the top-25.

A nation-best nine SEC women’s programs, including the top three. LSU is No. 1, Arkansas is No. 2, Texas A&M is No. 3, Georgia is No. 6, Alabama is No. 7, Florida is No. 10, Auburn is No. 18, Kentucky is No. 23 and South Carolina is No. 25. No other conference has more than five women’s teams in the top-25.

SEC men’s and women’s track and field athletes lead the nation in 19 individual events enter-ing this weekend’s SEC Championships.

LSU won the last men’s outdoor SEC track and field title in 2019, while Arkansas won the women’s crown. Tennessee has claimed a league-leading 25 SEC men’s titles, while LSU has claimed a league-leading 13 SEC women’s titles.
