Purpose• To share the highlights from the draft PVSD Operations 2021-
2022 Plan and an accompanying Guide for Families.• The Task Force was re-commissioned as the Operations Check-In
Committee
• All school sites and district office divisions are represented
• Participants include families, teachers, staff, and leadership
• The final operations plan must adhere to local, county, state, and federal guidelines and requirements and collective bargaining agreements.

Operation Plan Highlights- Instruction• Return to pre-pandemic bell schedules• 5 full days of onsite instruction- including all IEP Services• Primary hour intervention returns Grades 1-3• Increased tutoring support, increased English Learner Support • Tiered supports for students with IEPS• Screening to assess student present levels- math, ELA, social-emotional• Teachers did summer work on setting priority standards• Assess need to adjust our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support • Parent conferences and IEPS with Zoom or in-person option

Operation Plan Highlights- Wellness & Operations• Student and Staff Self-Check Health Attestations will continue• Student temperature checks are no longer state mandated. However, survey
results show this is important to staff. We will augment staffing temporarily to facilitate student ‘Wellness Welcome” that includes a temperature check. This will be revisited during the first 60 days.
• Quarantine and contact tracing processes continue• Classrooms may be configured flexibly for instructional purposes• Maximize time in outdoor learning spaces• Individual student supplies when practicable- otherwise sanitize pre-sharing,
share, sanitize post sharing allowed• Middle school students may assist with sanitizing their areas

extracurriculars as soon as practicable• “Essential Visitor/Vendor” Safety Protocol in place for enrichment

Operations Plan Highlights- Governance• Communication protocols remain in place• When there are local decisions to be made, we will continue to seek
input through surveys • Check-In Committee will be reconvened as needed• Changes in mandates will be added to plan and communicated• Distance Learning is not an option under current California laws• Continued collaboration and partnership with PVEA and SEIU around
collective bargaining issues• Still recruiting for hard to fill positions and substitutes- spread the word!
• Schools will hold Orientation Video no later than Friday, August 20th
• When there are local decisions to be made, we will continue to seek input through surveys and will reconvene the Check-In Committee as needed.
• New/changed mandates will be added to the plan and communicated
• A final draft will be presented to the Board of Trustees August 19, 2021.
