Kamloops Chamber of Commerce | 2020 Annual General Meeting

Abhinav (Ab) Ashok | MNP LLP (nominated for a 2 year term) Abhinav Ashok, CPA, CA, is a Senior Manager in MNP. As part of the Kamloops’ Assurance Services team, Ab delivers a range of services to private enterprise, non-profit organizations and Indigenous clients. He received his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 2012. Ab is originally from India, and was admitted as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 2009. In addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from India, Ab also has a Master’s degree in International Accounting from the UK. Ab and his family moved to Canada in 2011 and to Kamloops in 2012.

Nicholas Adams | Riverdale Trailer Court Ltd. (nominated for a 2 year term) Nicholas is a social entrepreneur, along with several businesses he was the co-founder of Kamloops Makerspace and works with many organizations in the non-profit sector. He is currently President of Kamloops Makerspace and Vice President of Kamloops Heritage Railway. He applies the principals of sustainability learned in his business pursuits to ensure the long-term success of non-profit organizations. He also aims to instill the ethics of community service and social responsibility into his business ventures.

Rebecca Hughson |

(nominated for a 2 year term)

Rebecca is a storyteller with a background in publishing, communica-tions, sales and marketing, alongside a strong history of community in-volvement and support. She believes that honest connection is what makes a community strong and healthy, and that it’s the stories we share that bring us together. A degree in Journalism led Rebecca to many roles in the print media world, including writer, editor, designer and compositor, before she launched her own titles. As founding publisher of a weekly entertainment guide, followed by several monthly neighbourhood magazines in Kam-loops, Rebecca worked in a unique position amidst both Kamloops resi-dents and the businesses that serve them. She has observed how the connection between these two groups supports our city’s growth, and be-lieves the Kamloops Chamber can play a supporting role in building on that connection.

Sara Lawson | Schoening Funeral Service (nominated for a 2 year term) Sara is a funeral director and the General Manager of the Kamloops area of funeral homes with Dignity Memorial, including Schoening Funeral Service, First Memorial, Merritt Funeral Chapel and Pine Grove Crematorium. Sara has been in the funeral profession since 1997 when she began her apprenticeship at a small-town funeral home in Central Alberta. She spent the majority of her career caring for the bereaved in Abbotsford, BC and relocated to Kamloops in 2019. Passionate about giving back to the community, Sara has a long history with hospice bereavement companioning, is past-president of her Rotary club and has enjoyed her time volunteering on many community boards, including, most recently, 6 years with the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce and currently sits on the board of the North Shore BIA. Sara is passionate about supporting the growth and development of business in Kamloops. She is excited for the opportunity to work with the Chamber of Commerce to help Kamloops continue to be a great community in which to live and work.

Mickael Maddison | SilverServers Inc. (nominated for a 2 year term) Mickael Maddison is the founder and CEO of SilverServers Inc., an original and innovating Kamloops internet business servicing customers all over the world for over 22 years. In his role as CEO of SilverServers, Mickael has brought the company from a single-person website hosting business to one that employs 12 staff and provides a wide range of service to hundreds of small to medium sized businesses.

As a company, SilverServers is passionate about continual research and de-velopment of tools and technologies to add new value and ensure everyone is constantly learning something new. Mickael is also the Vice President of Operations for the CanShield Data Center.

Alicia Glaicar | Gillespie & Co. (nominated for a 2 year term)

Alicia has served on the Chamber of Commerce board for two years and is now nominated for her second two-year term. During the past year, Alicia has served as an active member on the Business Advocacy Committee, and the Organizational Sustainability Committee.

Dan Carroll | Fulton & Company LLP (nominated for a 2 year term)

Dan has served on the Chamber of Commerce board for two years and is now nominated for his second two-year term. During the past year, Dan has served as an active member on the Awards Committee, the Governance Committee and the Organizational Sustainability Committee.

Mike has served on the Chamber of Commerce board for two years and is now nominated for his second two-year term. During the past year, Mike has served as an active member on the Business Advocacy Committee.
