2020 WINTER RENDEZVOUSKentucky Bourbon Trail
UNDECORATETHE CLUBJanuary 5th10:00am
NEW YEAR’SBRUNCHJanuary 1st11:00 - 3:00
Lady Patti and I are very proud and honored to have the opportunity to serve the membership of GIYC as your Lady and Commodore for 2020. There are so many things going well at GIYC and so many great things to come in 2020, we are truly blessed to be to be a part of it all. We cannot thank you all enough for putting your trust in us and for the support we have already received as we plan for the year to come. I believe we are made up of a group of Great People, that we have one of the best places available to enjoy our Great Lakes and are planning for some Great Times in 2020. Great People - Thanks to all that helped make the 2019 Wassail Toast, led by P/C John Clark with some impressive help from Lady Audrey Lyden, a memorable evening. I love the tradition and warmth it brings to the club. The decorations are beautiful, the food delicious and the turnout by the membership was impressive.Congratulations to P/C Dr. Matt Dubois and Lady Sue for being awarded with the P/C Ed Lyden Award. Their continued service to the club and impressive efforts leading the fund raising for the Past Commodores Club, has resulted in further improvements to the facility we will all be able to enjoy. The new entrance on the harbor side and the brick paver patio and walk are a beautiful addition indeed.Great Lakes – Not much to report this time of year but if you want to experience a beautiful sunrise on a clear morning, make your way down to the club. It makes for a spectacular view when the sun is so far south on the horizon. Great Times – Change of Watch honoring now P/C Gary Dust and Lady Tamara and welcoming the new bridge and Board of Directors on December 13th went like clockwork. Sunday Brunch and Poppin’ Bottles were all well attended and lots of fun for those who attended. P/C Rob Carrier continued the tradition of honoring longtime members and presented certificates to those with over 50 years of membership. He also recognized members Neil Johnson and Erick Heilman for their service to the club. We will be starting the new year with New Year’s Brunch and a gathering on January 11th at The Keep, a Prohibition era speakeasy you can read about in the attached flyer. Hope to see you there.
Great People, Great Lakes, Great Times, are what it’s all about.

Happy New Year fellow members! Lady Els and I are proud and thankful to serve GIYC as Vice Commodore and Lady and we are looking forward to representing our fantastic Club again this year!
Many of us set goals and resolutions during this time of year. My goal, besides losing 20 lbs (which is virtually impossible as a member of the bridge), is to make this year another great one for our club! As I’ve noted in every Spray article that I’ve written ……there will be many opportunities for everyone to work and play at our Club and I encourage each and every one of you to Get Involved!
There will be many events, rendezvous, parties, etc. to be a part of this year! Don’t miss the New Year’s Day Brunch on January 1, 2020 and the official reopening of the Club on Sunday, February 2, 2020 with our annual Super Bowl party that is not to be missed! Also, Commodore Todd and Lady Patti have a fantastic Bourbon Trail Winter Rendezvous planned for March, 2020 …… please sign up while there is still availability!
Wishing you and your family good health, happiness, success and prosperity in the coming New Year! Have a great start to a great year and see you around the Club!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! WISHING YOU AND YOURS THE BEST OF HEALTH, WEALTH AND HAPPINESS FOR 2020!
Boom! Only 26 or less, Saturdays until the Fourth of July weekend. Anyone who participated with any or all of the festivities, I am seeking your help and advice. Please contact me. The fireworks company has been secured for our Saturday night fireworks display. A perfect evening because Saturday happens to be the the Fourth of July. The guy with the limo has donated it again as a shuttle from Township Hall parking to the Club. What a cool guy!
There are no known illnesses, births or passing’s. Please keep the following in your thoughts and prayers...
• All of our members and their children who are serving in the military or public duty that keeps them away from their families at this time of year.
• Anyone else that has a need for comfort and support at this time of year.
Please be reminded to send me an email with announcements or information regarding those that are in need of our prayers and any joyous news you wish to share.
My contact information [email protected]: 734-752-5650Office: 734-282-3939
I want to say thank you again, to all of you, for your support and confidence as we begin this new journey as GIYC’s Rear Commodore and Lady Sherry. With honor, dignity and a whole lot of fun we promise we will work hard for you.
Have the best day,
Will EvansRear Commodore
