Our mission is to prepare people to solve real business problems. Our courses put concepts first, and treat tools and technology as an enabler, not the core focus. We take the key concepts and best practices of analytics, visualization and design thinking based on the latest academic research, and present them in a clear, concise and actionable format.

We bring the concepts to life with realistic, business relevant examples based on our consulting experience. All our courses are hands on, and get participants applying the concepts to real problems right away. We ensure that all participants walk away at the end of each course with new outputs they have created themselves, which they can apply to real business problems the next day.

Our instructors will help your team makeover their existing reports and dashboards on the fly so that you can walk away with improved outputs that you can use with your teams immediately.

All our courses can be delivered by Webex virtual classroom, enabling you to roll the course out to staff in disparate locations with a full interactive experience.

Our 2-day courses can be summarized to 1-day to be even more targeted at learning concepts, with no need to open tools like Excel or Tableau at all. This option is designed for busy, senior staff who will not be implementing the best practices themselves, but rather need to learn the concepts so that they can direct more junior staff to implement. We replace the hands-on workshops in tools like Excel and Tableau with wire framing using old fashioned paper and post-it notes.

OUR FACULTYLearn from the thought leaders in the field

A data storytelling expert, Jay is concurrently a trainer at StoryIQ and Head of Operations at Magpie.IM, an online payments startup.

In his prior role, Jay was the Head of the Manila Shared Services Center for Kforce (Nasdaq: KFRC) and a Business Development Director at analytics company, Sencor. Jay holds an MBA and B.S. in Mathematics from Ateneo de Manila University. He was a winner of the 2017 Grab Data Visualization challenge.

JP has varied experience in different industries, building an analytics career with strong roots in customer service, manufacturing, retail, digital marketing, and market research.

His longest and most recent engagement was with ABS-CBN, the Philippines’ biggest media network, where he led digital analytics to drive key businesses including the company’s video streaming services for both local and international markets and other owned digital properties.

A distinguished chemist, Kenon worked in the analytical laboratories of multinational corporations such as Dole and Coca-Cola. He won the 2019 Data Visualizationchallenge held by Data Science Philippines before committing fully to a career in Data. His aptitude for the arts and sciences, as well as his experience in technical data collection, analysis, and communication, have been key to his success as a data storyteller.

Denise has had decade-long work experience in the clinical and pharmaceutical research space where she gained knowledge and expertise in various business areas including workforce, total quality management, and learning & development. Prior to joining StoryIQ, she led a data management team for a national disease and therapy index in IQVIA, a human data science company. On top of this, she also delivered trainings to colleagues and managers on Microsoft Excel analytics, businesscommunication, and data storytelling.

Our Lead Data Storytelling Trainer and a TEDx speaker, Dom brings a wealth ofdata storytelling experience to StoryIQ from his career at QBE, one of Australia’slargest insurance companies. At QBE, he was a senior leader in analytics,procurement, and business improvement.

He has been responsible for negotiating multi-million dollar contracts withsuppliers, presenting data driven strategy recommendations to the company’ssenior executives, and producing reporting for the Group Board of Directors.

Isaac Reyes, Co-Founder at StoryIQ, is a TEDx speaker and international keynotepresenter in data science and machine learning. He was the keynote speaker atthe 2019 Open Data Science Conference in Brazil and over 2018-2019, hisspeaking tour visited 26 cities across 5 continents. His ultimate goal is toempower every organization to derive value from data.

Gerald has over 10 years of experience in the field of corporate education.Combining his extensive experience in corporate training and organizationaldevelopment, he has been involved in developing tools and training solutions for a variety of audiences in both big and small organizations as a former CourseAdministrator and Developer at Avaloq, a Fintech leader in digital banking and digital wealth management in Switzerland.

Graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a bachelor’s degree and amasters in applied mathematics, Zac is the Gen Z analyst who is in the road tobecoming a data scientist of the millennium. He was a business statistics andprogramming lecturer of the Ateneo, mentoring students from the John Gokongwei School of Management. In 2016, he was also a Temasek Foundation International Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking Scholar of the National University of Singapore, having completed real analysis and mathematical statistics courses there.

Learn the fundamentals of business analytics in this two day intensive program.

Suitable for

Some executives mistakenly believe that the majority of value in business datasets is only unlocked by applying advanced statistical and machine learning techniques. In practice, most of the value in business data is derived by asking relatively simple questions that can be answered using basic data manipulation and common metrics (e.g. averages, totals, counts and percentages).

That said, the ability to ask the right business questions and answer them with the right metrics is a fundamental anlytics skill that is sorely lacking in the skillset of most data analysts and managers.
