The purpose of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Statewide Children’s Book Drive is to collect new or gently used children’s books for distribution to elementary, middle, and high schools, and to after school programs across the State. This important enrichment program began in 2004 and continues each year, thanks to the generosity of participating State agencies.
The 2020 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Statewide Children’s Book Drive will run February 24, 2020 – April 24, 2020.
Our 2019 partners in the greater Albany, Buffalo, and New York City areas include the Albany City School District, Literacy Inc., Parent-Child Home Program, and Buffalo State College’s Project Flight. Agencies may consider donating to these organizations or to other similar groups in their communities.
