For Requirements of Nursing Assistant Training Please Note: You cannot work as a certified nursing assistant or a medication assistant/medication
technician until you are certified and receive certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
You cannot work as a geriatric nursing assistant until you have successfully completed the NNAAP
(National Nurse Aide Assessment Program) Examination given by Credentia and receive your -
certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing as a geriatric nursing aide.

considered equivalent to having taken the relevant nursing assistant training program. An official
