    • Why ACP in the classroom?

    • How can teacher externships prepare teachers to embed ACP in their classrooms and help answer the age-old question “Why do I need to know this?”

  • Program Components

    CATE Program:

    ● Allows middle and high school teachers to work side-by-side with industry peers during 3- to 5-day paid summer externship

    ● Helps educators understand workforce needs by job shadowing in multiple departments

    ● Provides increased company exposure to students/parents/educators through new educator/business partnerships

    ● Contributes to new knowledge which is embedded in classroom ACP lesson/ unit plans

    workshop. Invite business reps for lunch. Include completion of affiliation agreement by teachers, school districts, and externship businesses.

    experiences—plan to attend one day or part of a day for each externship, to include taking pictures/videos if allowable.

    ● Create promotional videos for teacher externship program using video clips from teacher extern experiences.

  • Educator Externship

    Educator Externships can be developed to fit the needs of your

    community, schools and employers.

    CESA 11 program:

    • Employer responsibilities/contribution: Host an extern a minimum of 5 days or 40 hours

    • Grant/partnership: WITC-Northwest WI Career Prep Grant

    -Sponsors $500 stipends to participating teachers within the region

  • Educator Externship

    • Teacher’s Responsibility:

    -Find a local or regional business site that will

    -Attend orientation

    -Complete hours between June 14,2020-August 27, 2021

    -Interview a minimum of 3 employees

    -Complete a report outlining the experience

    -Create a lesson or unit incorporating aspects of the externship experience

    -Attend follow-up session September 17, 2021
