Introduction
• Why ACP in the classroom?
• How can teacher externships prepare teachers to embed ACP in their classrooms and help answer the age-old question “Why do I need to know this?”
Why do classroom teachers need to participate in Academic and Career Planning, anyway?
1. Because we have over 800,000 students in Wisconsin
that we’d like to retain as our future workforce
2. Because we have a workforce crisis
3. Because career opportunities are shifting
4. Because our students aren’t ready for the real world
