How will teachers and students work through connectivity or technical issues
during the school day?

• There will be two established helplines for teachers, students, and families. K12 will have a 24-hour
helpline focused specifically on troubleshooting any platform issues that may occur.
• The other helpline is our Distance Learning Helpline at 305-995-HELP. This Helpline will be
operational until 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and may include homework help.
• Technical support will be provided on district-issued devices, as well as basic troubleshooting on
personal devices.

AttendanceHow will attendance be taken for
students?
⚫SCHOOL ATTENDANCE: Daily school
attendance will be taken every scheduled
school day during the students’ first class of
the day.
⚫CLASS ATTENDANCE: Students will be
counted in attendance to class if they log into
the live sessions with their teachers.
⚫✓At the secondary level (6-12), students will log into their
teacher’s live session at the beginning of each class
period/block.
⚫✓ Students must enable the camera function on their
computers so that the teacher can identify them and take
attendance.
⚫✓ Students who log into K12 to do their daily assignments
but do not log into the live sessions with their teachers are
considered absent to class.
⚫Absences shall be reported to the student’s enrolled
school by the parent/legal guardian no later than five (5)
days from the date of the absence. Failure to provide the
required documentation within five (5) school days, upon the
return to school, will result in an unexcused absence.
