SISTER SIMONE CAMPBELL, SSS Simone Campbell, a Sister of Social Service, has served as executive director of NETWORK since 2004. She is a religious leader, attorney, and poet with extensive experience in public policy and advocacy for systemic change. Campbell has been instrumental in organizing six cross-country Nuns
on the Bus trips, focused on economic justice, comprehensive immigration reform, voter turnout, bridging divides in politics and society, and mending the gaps in wealth and access in our nation. She has been featured in national and international media, including appearances on 60 Minutes, The Colbert Report, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. She is also the author of A Nun on the Bus: How All of Us Can Create Hope, Change, and Community.
MEGHAN J. CLARK Meghan J. Clark, PhD is associate professor of moral theology at St. John’s University in NY. She is currently a senior fellow of the Vincentian Center for Church and Society and serves as a faculty expert for the Holy See’s Mission to the United Nations. She is author of several books, and her research has been published in academic journals. Active in public theology, she is a columnist for US Catholic magazine and a contributor to America Magazine and Millennial Journal.
NICHOLE M. FLORES Nichole M. Flores, PhD is assistant professor of religious studies at the University of Virginia. She has published peer-reviewed essays and is a contributing author at America Magazine. In 2015, she was awarded the Catherine Mowry LaCugna Award from the Catholic Theological Society of America. HEIDI SCHLUMPF Heidi Schlumpf is national correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter. She has three decades of experience covering religion, spirituality, social justice, and women’s issues. She is the author of two books, including a biography of theologian Elizabeth Johnson, and is the editor of the Notre Dame Book of Prayer. She has a bachelor’s degree in American studies and a masters of theological studies from Northwestern University.

Sister Simone Campbell, SSS will describe characteristics of prophetic communities and the role
of contemplation calling us toward the common good. Additional speakers will provide theological context for the common good and practical illustrations of prophetic communities today. Seminar participants will enjoy meals and fellowship together, prayer experiences, and optional evening activities to nurture mind, body, and spirit. Books written by the speakers will be made available for purchase on-site.
