Vespa Gts is the successor of Vespa big body which was born in 1977 with the immortal Vespa PX.

Vespa PX was the progenitor of Vespa “Nuova Linea” which enlarged the Vespa range introducing a new body with bigger dimensions.

Vespa PX immediately became a must to have and, with over 3 millions vehicles sold, is the most sold Vespa model ever.

During its eternal lifecycle PX was declined into different versions such as the sporty T5 Pole Position or the, at that time, futuristic COSA.

The big body of Vespa, in its modern shape with automatic transmission, was born in 2003 with the modern Vespa Granturismo 200L.

In 2005 there was an important improvement thanks to the introduction of Vespa Gts which was equipped with a 250cc engine.

In 2008 Vespa big body got the ultimate evolution with Gts Super, powered by the 300cc engine, the most powerful engine ever built on a Vespa.

CONCEPT

I N N O V A T I O NPrimavera 2018 emphasizes its “social” soul becoming the first “connected” vehicle on the market. Vespa Gts reinforces the “social” soul of the brand and introduces some new features including pictogram navigation. The new system called “VESPA MIA connection system” allows to answer calls, to use the smartphone’s voice commands to make calls or play music by activating a playlist, to set a navigator that will show the route on the dashboard.

The Bluetooth helmet has to be connected as well. The headset device must therefore be paired directly with the vehicle.

The app provides an intuitive user interface for pairing and removal of user’s Bluetooth devices.

The front view is characterized by the round shape of the LED headlamp, a well established element in the history of Vespa design, and by the LED daylights. These features represent the best solution in terms of visibility, in all possible weather conditions, and a very nice stylistic choice.

3 0 0 c c h p e E N G I N E - E U R O 4The new engine 300cc hpe (High Performance Engine), is a concentration of technology calibrated to support performance and control of fuel consumption. Many mechanical and electronic components have been completely revised to optimize consumption, ensuring brilliant performance.

The goal is to increase the efficiency of every single detail to contribute maximum performance while minimizing fuel consumption and emissions, to provide a new driving experience. Every detail, from the internal design of the cylinder and combustion chamber to the transmission, has been redesigned to make the driving smooth, silent and comfortable.



The new 300 hpe has been designed to offer driving pleasure and brilliant performance thanks to:

- new cylinder head

- improved thermodynamic

- high efficiency combustion chamber

- increased valves diameter and ducts

In order to reduce fuel consumption and gain better engine control many components have been improved:

- new high performance multi-jet injector

- increased fuel pressure feeding

- last generation MIUG4 type ECU (E5 ready)

- new high durability iridium spark plug



New intake line allows to achieve the required engine tuning in order to increase torque at low speeds looking at the best drivability.

The new SOHC roller cam timing system with optimized valve lift event and the new improved piston architecture allow to:

- reduce mechanical losses

- reduce noise

The new CVT calibration, thanks to the new transmission belt, new stiffer clutch drum and the new CVT cover with sound proofing material, allows to:

- lower fuel consumption

- increase fluidity at low speeds

- contain engine noise



The new 300 hpe increases power by 12% and reaches 17.5 kW at the crankshaft, with lower fuel consumption. The torque level increases by 18%.

The new engine improves the maximum speed up to 120 km/h.

Even the acceleration increases both in 30 meters and in 60 meters. At 30 meters, Vespa Gts 300 hpe earns 5 additional meters if compared to the previous version.

According to this, the new shape of the saddle has been designed to offer maximum comfort to the rider and passenger and helps to slender the whole side of the vehicle.

Carefully selected seams, materials and texture give the saddle an elegant and well-refined image.


Vespa Gts has a new and more appealing image thanks to the new technological solutions with which it’s enriched.

The front shield, which is typically the most characterizing part of a vehicle, is now modern and more technological thanks to the new front LED headlamp and the day running lights, built in the turning indicators.

The main dashboard of the Gts range represents a perfect combination of tradition and innovation. Vespa Gts adopts an elegant and sporty instrument panel, according to the different versions. The dashboard is characterized by an analogic and an LCD display which show all the important information such as odometer, trip, fuel level and clock, managed by the mode button. The trip mode button is placed on the right handlebar control.

The 125cc is a single cylinder engine, 4 stroke, 4 valve, electronic injection, liquid cooled, and can deliver maximum power of 9.0 kW at 8,250 rpm (12.2 HP) and maximum torque of 11.1 Nm at 6,750 rpm ensuring a quick response to the throttle thanks to the high torque available at low rpm.

The patented Start & Stop system complete the technical framework.The RISS (Regulator Inverter Start & Stop System) eliminates the classic starter motor, directly fitted on the crankshaft.
