2019 LOOK BOOK
Société des Lunetiers was born of a unique human adventure, which began in 1849 in the heart of Paris. At the time, Le Marais was populated by artisans, with their workshops nestled in the inner courtyards. It was in this historic district that thirteen Parisian spectacle makers, driven by the passion of their craft and beautiful workmanship, came together to create their frame manufacturing company. The company grew quickly, acquiring factories in the East of France and diversified its activities, also producing, notably, corrective lenses. By the end of the nineteenth century, it began to export to Europe and the rest of the world. Rewarded for the quality of its products at several universal exhibitions, it became internationally renown and, at the dawn of the new millenium, had emerged as a leading player in the optics and eyeglass trade. With its historical know-how and expertise, it was positioned at the forefront of technology, with innovation as its trademark.
The collections developed were testament to perfect mastery of the eyewear trade, and were set apart both by the elegant styling and the diversity of materials used. More than a century after its creation, and still at the forefront of the industry, in 1955 Société des Lunetiers invented Nylor, a minimalist and refined frame that uses a nylon thread for lightness and visual comfort. This technique was unprecedented in the market at the time, but has become a must for the entire eyewear industry. Four years later, it again revolutionized the world of optics by launching the first progressive ophthalmic lens. The famous Varilux® lens was born.
Today, Société des Lunetiers® perpetuates its founders’ heritage by offering a collection of optical frames and sunglasses that combine eyewear excellence with Parisian chic. Sold with Essilor® lenses, the frames are designed to meet the effervescent rhythm of the city. Inspired heavily by urban life and traditional French touch, they display pure and fluid lines that are enhanced by graphic details.
With timeless style that subtly combine “industrial” materials and warm colors, Société des Lunetiers® revisits its classics without betraying the brand’s original spirit: a unique fusion of tradition and modernity.

You don’t need to send the frame to us. The frame will be picked from our stock and the glazed job sent to you.
2 Terms & conditions
General 1 The frames are guaranteed for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. 2 If a frame is out of stock, a member of our Customer Services team will contact you as soon as possible. 3 The minimum order quantity for the initial order is 12 pieces. 4 There is no minimum quantity for replenishment order.
Return policy If upon receipt a frame (with or without lenses) is damaged, please send the complete order (frame and lenses) with the corresponding invoice, batch number and patient reference to Essilor Returns Department. The frame/lenses will be assessed by one of our team members and a new frame/lenses will be re-ordered.
To make a claim Please complete the relevant paperwork and send it along with the lens frame package to: Essilor Ltd, Customer Returns department, SdL returns, Cooper Road, Thornbury, Bristol, BS35 3UW
