Context2019-22 MSAA Template Update

• On February 1st, 2019, a new three-year MSAA Template was

approved by 2/3 (majority) of LHIN Boards of Directors

• The MSAA Template will be in place for the period from

April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2022.

• The MSAA Template for 2019-22 has been updated to:

• Create consistency among all three types of SAAs

• Add clarity to provisions

• Make corrections to clauses

Context2019-22 MSAA Template Update

Some changes to MSAA Template include:

• Added provision related to “Factors Beyond an HSP’s Control”

• Updated “Repayment and Recovery” provision for clarification

• Added provision related to the “Process for Recovery of Funding”

• Amended provision related to “CEO Performance and Payment”

• A provision added based on Auditor General recommendation related

continued care for complex patients

Health Equity Updated.

At year end, HSPs will complete and submit a survey to demonstrate how

the Health Equity Impact Assessment (HEIA) tool has been used to

incorporate a health equity lens into at least one policy, program or service

delivery area.

To continue capacity-building through knowledge transfer, education, and

training about health equity within the MH LHIN, participation in two of the

following MH LHIN Health Equity initiatives is required:

1. Annual Health Equity Symposium

2. MH LHIN Health Equity Community of Practice

3. Health Equity education at the MH LHIN’s Regional Learning Centre

4. HEIA Community of Interest webinars

Quality Improvement

Plan (QIP)Updated.

The HSP, within its QIP Narrative or Indicator selection, will demonstrate

alignment with the Mississauga Halton LHIN Integrated Regional QIP.

All Health Service Providers are required to participate in local sub-region

planning as applicable.

*Additional HSP-specific local obligations may be added to this schedule at the LHIN’s discretion.

** In the event that the HSP is not be able to return a board-approved signed MSAA by March 31, 2019, the HSP

will need to provide the LHIN via email with a written declaration of its intent to sign, in advance of the deadline

date. In this instance, the 2018/19 MSAA will be extended until the first meeting of the HSP’s Board of Directors,

after April 1, 2019, whereby the HSP will seek the requisite approval of its Board to enable the execution of the

new MSAA.
