UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Seven emirates, one destination - Visit the UAE and discover a land rich in history and tradition. Take a tour of the desert and explore the wild side of Arabia. Then, relax your mind, body and soul at the exclusive resorts. The United Arab Emirates is one of those countries that must be seen to be believed. Record-breaking architecture stands alongside traditional quarters, exclusive man-made islands jut out of the coastline and amazing wildlife will make your holiday memorable. Discover the real UAE by immersing yourself in everyday life. Ride the metro, eat with the locals and watch the crowds go by in the city-like malls, and it won’t be long before you find yourself charmed by the Emirates.

DubaiDubai is the second largest of the seven Emirates and it is famous for building the first, largest, unique and the biggest constructions in the world. Dubai’s dynamics are always transient and ever-changing with its constant urge to construct something better and bigger than the previous. It constantly dwells in a suppressive competition with itself trying to magnetize tourists to a dreamy world of attractions and unheard-of luxuries. Spend time wandering through the souks and along the waterfront to take in the city’s atmosphere. There is almost nothing ‘old’ in Dubai, but it is the one place in the Gulf where that hardly seems to matter.

Dubai is surrounded by a vast desert and the stunning Hajjar Mountains; the city is divided by the Creek splitting the commercial centre into two parts – Deira and Bur Dubai. In the city, you’ll find incredibly high tech buildings close to old traditional houses and mosques, amazing beach resorts are just a short drive from the city centre.

Abu Dhabi Captivating culture, breath-taking luxury, exhilarating adventure and the warmth of Arabian hospitality await you in Abu Dhabi. Feel awed by one of the world’s top landmarks – the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - take on the planet’s fastest roller coaster at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, zoom to the pace of a speedboat tour of the UAE capital’s coastline, indulge in sandboarding in Al Dhafra, and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a stroll through Al Ain’s cooling oasis. Abu Dhabi is an eventful capital with an action-packed calendar, including a Grand Prix, the World Cup of Sailing, a PGA golf championship, international art, music, sport, gourmet, heritage and cultural festivals, high profile business conferences and vibrant trade fairs.

SharjahSharjah is the third largest of the seven states which form the United Arab Emirates. In the past, people relied on trade and seafaring in addition to, farming, hunting, fishing and pearling. Many of the early settlements were based around the ‘falaj’, a man-made underground watercourse. Sharjah is renowned throughout the Arab world for its commitment to art, culture and preserving the local heritage, this emirate is the place to visit to explore, experience and discover the secrets of a unique Arabian lifestyle and Islamic culture. Sharjah offers an impressive array of over twenty museums several art galleries and beautifully restored heritage areas.

Al Ain Not too far from Dubai or Abu Dhabi is Al Ain, one of the world’s oldest permanently inhabited settlements, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city abounds in picturesque forts. One of the UAE’s most historic buildings, Al Jahili Fort was erected in 1891 to defend the city. You can visit the Al Ain National Museum which lets you explore various aspects of UAE life, including Bedouin jewellery and traditional musical instrument collections. For stunning views of the city, visit the top of Jebel Hafeet – a rocky height dominating the city -  via a winding highway. Other attractions include the Al Ain oasis with its cool, shady walkways and a 3,000year-old falaj irrigation system, and the camel market - one of the last few remaining.

EGYPTEgypt was known throughout its history as a destination for tourists and travellers since it was visited by “Herodotus” during the ancient time when he got surprised because of the vast difference between Egypt and his homeland. Egypt maintained this image throughout the middle and modern history. However, the discovery of the Pharaonic antiquities long time ago has added a special charm to Egypt, besides its unique religious and cultural monuments. On the other hand, Egypt enjoys a geographical location, and a moderate climate all the year-round, along with its smooth vast coastlines, and beaches with its unique treasures of coral reefs, providing Egypt with the advantages of a competitive edge.

although it is actually only 225 km from Cairo. Alexandria has a history as rich and varied as Cairo’s having stood witness to the rise and fall of civilizations, maintaining its unique character and ageless charm.

Abu SimbelRamses II constructed the two great temples in Abu Simbel, one for himself and one for his Nubian wife Nefertari. The two temples at Abu Simbel are perhaps some of the most magnificent monuments in the world. The temples face east to receive the rays of the rising sun. It is said that twice a year, the sun shines on the face of the King: once on his birthday and once on his coronation day. It is still a mystery to archaeologists how the ancient Egyptians could have designed and built such miraculous structures.

Sharm El SheikhThe Sinai Peninsula is a vast area of unspoiled beauty. The excellent quality of the water, the magnificent underwater world and the impressing panorama of the Sinai Mountains, all promise an unforgettable experience. Sharm El Sheikh is fast becoming the main attraction of this area. A coastal resort where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches and sunshine, Sharm El Sheikh offers the vacationer a full complement of activities, whether water sports (water-skiing, windsurfing, diving, snorkelling), golf, tennis, horseback-riding or desert safaris.

CairoCairo, the Triumphant City, known officially as al-Qāhirah, is Egypt’s capital city and with over 16 million inhabitants, it ranks as one of the largest cities in Africa. This city of contradictions will Enthral you with its ageless charm. The ancient and the modern co-exist in surprising harmony, and the hospitality and friendliness of its people will set you at ease. Historic Cairo includes the wonders of the pharaohs, as well as a religious heritage embodied in the numerous Jewish, Coptic and Islamic monuments that abound. It is the modern administrative capital of Egypt and has most of Egypt’s Pyramids, such as the Great Pyramids of Giza on the very edge of the city. And there are ancient temples, tombs, Christian churches, magnificent Muslim monuments, and of course, the Egyptian Antiquities Museum.

LuxorLuxor is the most important destination for any visitor interested to learn about ancient Egyptian history. This outdoor museum has the largest collection of historical monuments in Egypt, distributed throughout the City of Luxor on the East side of the Nile, the town of Karnak north of Luxor, and Thebes on the west side of the Nile.

AlexandriaThe second-largest city in Egypt, Alexandria, known as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean”, has an atmosphere that is more Mediterraneanthan Middle Eastern; its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country

AswanAswan is Egypt’s sunniest city and has a distinctively African atmosphere. It was once the gateway to Africa and an important ancient trade centre. Aswan today offers beautiful natural scenery in addition to numerous sites of interest. Small enough to walk around and graced with the most beautiful setting on the Nile, the pace of life is slow and relaxing. Days can be spent strolling up and down the broad Corniche watching the sailboats etch the sky with their tall masts or sitting in floating restaurants listening to Nubian music and eating freshly caught fish.

JORDANJordan is a land of ancient heritage that until relatively modern times has lived in the fold of great empires, most often existing as an important trading and communications link. Jordan’s millennia of human settlement have left it with varied archaeological treasures that range from Neolithic villages and four thousand years old frescoes to the Greco-Roman splendour of Jerash, the mosaic riches of Byzantine Madaba and the rock-carved wonders of Nabataean Petra.

Since time immemorial, the lands of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have witnessed many civilizations emerge, conquer, thrive and then vanish. Wave after wave of Nabateans, Ammonites, Edomites, Canaanites, Greeks and Romans left its mark on the desert, hills and plains of Jordan.

Amman The modern Jordanian capital city of Amman is only the latest in a long series of communities that have flourished on the same spot for thousands of years. Among Amman’s most noteworthy places to visit are the archaeological museum on citadel hill, the Jordan museum of popular traditions and the Jordan folklore museum flanking the Roman theatre, the Jordan craft centre and the Jordan national gallery.

PetraPetra is magnificent, mysterious and always thrilling, two thousand years ago, the Nabataean carved a city out of the Rose-Red Rock and built an empire based on advanced agricultural techniques and control of area’s strategic trade routes. Petra was protected for several hundred years by a ring of impenetrable mountains, breached only by the kilometre-long fissure through the mountains known as the Siq.

Dead Sea The  Dead Sea  is known in Hebrew as Yam Ha-Melakh (the Sea of Salt) is  the lowest point on earth, surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Negev Desert. The shores of the Dead Sea are the lowest point on the surface of the earth, and the saline water of the lake give a lead to the name ‘Dead Sea’ because no fish can survive in the salty waters. The other result of the salty water of the Dead Sea is their renowned health and healing properties and the unique feature that one can float naturally in them.

MOROCCO Morocco is a country of eye-dazzling diversity, from the lyrical landscapes to the profound culture and history, from the mazy ancient medinas to the glitzy modern neighbourhoods, from the majestic mountain ranges to the immense deserts, Morocco surely has something for every interest. Navigate the maze-like medina, witness the lively nightlife at the Jemma el-Fnaa Square, walk through history in the famous  Roman ruins of Volubilis, hike up the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, trek the sweeping Sahara Desert on a camel’s back, or simply sit in a street-side cafe watching local people around you.

Marrakech A former imperial city in western Morocco is a major economic centre and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. The medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire with mazelike alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewellery. Built-in the eleventh century, the Jemaa el Fna has become a symbol of Marrakech and enjoys protection since1922, under the artistic heritage of Morocco. It offers a unique concentration of traditions, such as the tales of storytellers, traditional medicine and various forms of entertainment as well as commercial.

Casablanca Casablanca is Morocco’s largest city with a population of almost 4 million and also boasts the world’s largest artificial port but no ferry service of any kind. Casablanca is also the most liberal and progressive of Morocco’s cities.  It is a commercial hub in western Morocco, fronting the Atlantic Ocean. The city’s French colonial legacy is seen in its downtown Mauresque architecture, a blend of Moorish style and European art deco. Standing partly over the water, the enormous Hassan II Mosque, built-in 1993, has a 210m minaret topped with lasers directed toward Mecca.

Fes Fes is the second-largest city of Morocco, with a population of 1.1 million. It is a northeastern Moroccan city often referred to as the country’s cultural capital. It’s primarily known for its Fes El Bali walled medina, with medieval architecture, vibrant souks and old-world atmosphere. The medina is home to religious schools such as the 14th-century Bou Inania and Al Attarine, both featuring elaborate cedar carvings and ornate tile work.
