WELCOME TO THE RESORT YOUR DAY STARTS HERE!

ARRIVAL:When your bus arrives at Asessippi, please have your lead teacher report to the guest check in. A member of our team will welcome your group to the resort and help usher your students into the chalet for a brief presentation! ORIENTATION:Your presenter will provide students and chaperones with direction on how the day will proceed; discuss local rules and review behavior expectations. Lift Tickets are distributed at this time. This presentation will take about 15 minutes. BAGS & GEAR:From here, the group will be escorted to an area on the lower level where students can drop off excess baggage, lock up valuables and get out of their snow boots! Please Note: 2 & 3 day visitors will be asked to take their helmets and boots to the hotel at the end of each day. RENTAL SHOP:Next stop is equipment!Equipment is pre-set, labelled and set out alphabetically by individual’sfirst name and last initial! INSTRUCTION PROCESS: our instructors are awesome!Once equipped, students will be met at the back door of rentals and directed to either the learning area or Easy Street to commence the lesson process. BEGINNERS: (0-1 time) will have been given a lift ticket with a beginner marking on it which gives them access to the learning area only. Once the student has progressed through the stations;can turn in both directions; stop in control; and has experienced the chairlift, they may be given Squirrel Chair access which services our easy terrain. Skiers & boarders that are beyond the beginner level will be directed to Easy Street where EVALUATIONS take place.Students demonstrating the ability to link turns and stop, but travel slowly and cautiouslyon easy terrain will be assigned to a NOVICE LESSON. Those that travel with more speed and confidence and can demonstrate rhythm and fluidity on terrain will be assigned to an INTERMEDIATE LESSON. Following these lessons students may be given Squirrel Quad or all areas access.

UPGRADES are offered daily at 9:30am and 1:00pm. (may vary depending on arrival time)Upgrades are not full lessons. Instructors re-evaluate student’s advancements from their morninglesson and provide feedback. Students that can vary turns and adapt to different conditions onany terrain with control, confidence and increased speed will receive an all areas marking. ADVANCED LESSONS are available daily at 2:00pm. Participants must have an all areas accesspass to qualify and must pre-register for advanced lessons with Group Check-In prior to 1:00pm.

SECURITY FEATURES & SAFETY:Security will patrol the hallways and parking lot from 8:00pm until approximately 4:00am. Our security personnel is here every night to ensure your student’s safety. Security cameras are installed in the hallways as well. QUIET TIME:11:00pm is quiet time and we ask that all students be in their rooms by this time and stay in their rooms until breakfast the next morning. At your requested time, Russell Inn security will apply masking tape to all students' guest room doors. If this tape is broken, security will notify the chaperones and it will then be the chaperones' responsibility to determine the consequences. Students will also be denied access from the exterior room doors. ALCOHOL POLICY:Our house policy is that alcohol consumption will not be allowed for school trips no matter what the age of the student. Any alcohol found in a student’s room will be confiscated by hotelsecurity immediately and handed over to chaperones. Our beer store will receive a list of names for each school. Students will be identified and refused alcohol service at our beer store,lounge, and restaurant. TAG-ALONG POLICY: We will make every effort to identify tag-alongs. If and when tag-alongs are identified, thechaperones will be informed and our security personnel will visit them and outline that itis not acceptable for them to be in student’s rooms or visa-versa. If security needs to revisitdue to an infraction, the tag-alongs will be asked to leave the hotel. SWIM SAFE AGREEMENT: The Russell Inn has worked very closely with Keith Thomas, the former Risk Manager from ManitobaAssociation of School Trustees. We are proud to say we have put together a Swim Safe program thatis very solid, safe and easy to manage for everyone. An authorized school trip representative mustreview and agree to comply with the Russell Inn’s Swim Safe Document prior to arrival. Upon arrival,an authorized school trip representative must meet with the pool attendant to briefly review the SwimSafe Document and be introduced to the safety equipment in the pool area. This must be donebefore any students are allowed in the pool area.

RESORT POLICIES & GENERAL INFORMATION:LEASHES are not mandatory on snowboards equipped with step-in bindings but are available, if required. Asessippi rental boards come equipped with a leash where required (the majority of our boards have strap-on binding and a leash is not required). Leashes are available for purchase at the Resort for only $10. LOCKS are highly recommended when bringing your own snow-board. Snowboards should be locked up on the racks available in the courtyard at all times when not in use.Locks are $5.00,refundable on return of the lock to the Ticket Counter or Rentals Guests are welcome to bring their own. A trick to keeping your skis safe … stack on opposite racks making itdifficult to match up a set. HELMETS are mandatory for all students and chaperones Grade K– 12 when visiting with their school. Our Rental Department has ample supply of helmets for rent. Guests are welcome to bring their own industry approved helmet (no hockey helmets please). LESSONS are included as part of the school program. NOTE: Snowboarding is not recommended under the age of 8.participants under the age of 8 require a private lesson This must be prebooked($70.00 for a 1.5hr lesson) The school program and applicable rates apply to students ages 6 and up. PRE-SCHOOL is considered age 0 - 5 and do not qualify for the school program. EQUIPMENT SWITCHING is allowed until 1:00 pm daily or on arrival Day 2. There is a switching fee of$20.00 applicable at time of switch.Once equipped, the student will require an additional evaluation &/or Lesson by one of our qualifiedinstructors to ensure they have correct access to runs based on their ability. WAIVERS are not required by Asessippi Ski Area & Resort. COUPONS and other promotional offers will not be accepted as payment under the school program.Only exceptions are given to Season Pass Holders, lift fees are waived. BAGS & GEAR are not allowed on the upper level of chalet. There are lockers and cubbiesavailable for storage on the lower level of the chalet. Skis and boards are to be left on the designated racks outside in the courtyard. Coolers are welcome. Please restrict unattended coolers to the lower level when not in use.

LOCKERS:We now offer electronic self-serve lockers. Simple Rental Process at the KioskInsert credit card, debit card or cash into kiosk.You create your own unique Pin code to access your locker all dayProceed to assigned locker to store valuables with unlimited re-entry by going directly to the locker. All locker rentals expire every day at 11:59pm unless multiple days have been purchased.If items are left in lockers after expired time you will be required to pay another dayrental to open them again.Our staff will be clearing out all expired lockers every Sunday evening. CANCELLATION POLICY: We respect your schools cancellation policy in regards to cold weather and road conditions.Please call 48 hours in advance or by 8:00 am the day prior whenever possible to let us know oryou may be subject to a $500 cancellation fee. We will make every effort to reschedule yourvisit for a time that works best for you. If CANCELLING due to participation, a scheduling conflict, or other … please provide 2 weeks’notice so that we may offer your space to others. ASESSIPPI COLD WEATHER POLICY: A combined temperature windchill of -40 will result in delay of lift operation. The Bunny Lifts andSquirrel Quad may open when the combined temperature warms above -40.The chalet will be open as advertised. All other openings are at the discretion of Managementand final approval of our Outdoor Operations Manager.
