ASTSWMO Emerging Fuels Task Force The mission of the Emerging Fuels Task Force is to assist the States’ and Territories’ UST programs by providing resources and informa on related to managing the storage and releases of new fuels that are in use or in development. 

Owners  and  operators  of  USTs  regulated  under  40  CFR  part  280  are  required  to  demonstrate compliance with U.S. EPA’s compa bility  requirement  (40 CFR 280.32) when  storing  regulated  substances,  including  motor  fuels  and  biofuel  blends          containing  greater  than  10  percent  ethanol  or  diesel  containing  greater  than  20    percent biodiesel.  

 

This tool was developed to assist UST program regulators, owners, and contractors in verifying  compa bility  of  petroleum  equipment  with  fuel  stored  by  providing  a      simple interface for users to find informa on provided by equipment manufacturers, including manufacturer compliance le ers. 

 

Users are able to verify UST system component compa bility by either 1) searching based  on  fuel  type  to  iden fy  compa ble  components  or  2)  by  searching  for  a       specific manufacturer to iden fy compa ble components.  

 

Manufacturers  and  regulators  are  also  able  to  use  this  tool  to  provide  updates  to ASTSWMO  as  new  components  become  available  or  when  specifica ons  for            exis ng components are changed. 

 

This  is  intended  to  be  a  living  resource  that  will  con nue  to  evolve  as  industry       con nues to respond to changing formula ons within the fuel supply. 

 

Users  may  also  submit  ques ons,  highlight  problems,  or  iden fy  inaccuracies  by     using the “submit informa on” feature of the tool.  

 

Search for Components by Fuel Type 

 

1. Select  either  Diesel  Blends  or  Ethanol Blends. 

 

 

 

 

2.  Choose  UST  system  component  from dropdown. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Click Submit. 

 

A  list of manufacturers that have provided documenta on will appear. 

 

4.  Select  manufacturer  to  review  their   documenta on  for  selected  fuel  type  and component. 

Submit Compa bility Documenta on  

1. Complete  the  Name,  Organiza on, and Email fields. 

 

2. Provide a descrip on of you submi al (update  or  addi on),  including        manufacturer,  UST  system  component, and fuel type. 

 

3. Op on to upload PDF Document.  

 

4. Click Submit.  

Search for Components by Manufacturer  

1. Choose Manufacturer from dropdown. 

 

2. Click Submit. 

 

A list of documenta on provided by the manufacturer will appear. 

 

3. Select to review their documenta on.
