And because of this, our faith is based on critical thinking and reasoning coupled with sound evidence. Our faith as Christians is not an ignorant faith like that of those who believe in evolution, who blindly hold to the acceptance in either the god of chance or some cosmic awareness. Additionally, God has told us that our witness for Him to others needs to be one that is reasonable. “but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense (apologia) to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;” (I Peter 3:15 NASB). We need to be able to give a reasonable answer for the faith that we have in Jesus Christ to anyone who asks us. So how does it become reasonable for one whose deeds of sin have stained them crimson to ever be made white as snow again? “Come now, and let us reason together,’ says the LORD, ‘Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be white as snow; thought they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.’” (Is 1:18 NASB). Making Sense of God Our God is a God of logic and order not chaos and happenstance. “Come now, and let us reason together,’ says the LORD, ‘Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be white as snow; thought they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.’” (Is 1:18 NASB). ...Continued from previous page

At first glance this may seem to be impossible, that it would require some kind of time traveling miracle where a person would need to go back in time and eradicate and amend their sins from their past. To be pure and innocent would take someone being “born again.” This would seem to indeed sound rather unreasonable, defying what would seem possible… except that it is not with God. “But He said, ‘The things impossible with men are possible with God.’” (Luke 18:27 NASB). What can seem beyond human wisdom and reasoning is completely reasonable to the Creator God who can speak and bring things into existence. What Isaiah reveals to us is totally reasonable for God to accomplish. God, in His unfathomable wisdom, has created mankind with the freedom to choose sin. In the same manner we have also been given the same freedom to choose righteousness in our life. It is by this freedom that our love for the Father is shown to be genuine. But this does not in any way diminish the creative purpose or sovereignty of God. “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (I Cor. 1:25 NASB). God provided “The Way” for us to receive a rebirth and be found righteous, without sin, before Him through the sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. By many infallible proofs we can know with surety through logical reasoning, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. We can confidently rejoice “… To Him who loves us, and released us from our sins by His blood,” (Rev. 1:5 NASB). Continued...

...Conclusion

Because of this amazing gift that we accept by our faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we now, in reasonable service to Him, offer ourselves up to Him with love, humility, and thankfulness daily as “… a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.” (Rom. 12:1 NASB). In His service, Doug
