Camerata Pacifica again welcomes The Calder Quartet, this time to perform
the first of Beethoven’s late quartets, Op. 127 in E-Flat Major. Inspired by the
writings of Emerson, Hawthorne, the Alcotts and Thoreau, American icon
Charles Ives’ “Concord” Piano Sonata will open the program.

An ensemble of four internationally-acclaimed solo artists makes its
L.A. debut in the luxurious surroundings of the Pompeian Room. Piano
quartets by Mozart (in g, K. 478), Brahms (in g, Op. 25) and Mahler —
his only surviving chamber music without voice.

Yoshika Masuda, Salastina’s resident cellist, is a founding member
of SAKURA. The program features multiple original arrangements
showcasing the depth and resonance only five cellos can create. The
program spans four centuries of music, from Orlando Gibbons to
Beethoven to Debussy to Rachmaninoff to Chick Corea.
