“We started growing seed corn in the spring of 1977. At that time, there was no CBLL, no GT and no RW. They were just letters in the alphabet. No-till was just getting started. To put it in perspective, you could buy a new 4x4 pickup with all the bells and whistles for $7000. Many major companies have consolidated or no longer exist today. Forty years later, Augusta is a steady force in the seed world. Many thanks to thousands of customers that have supported us - you are truly part of the Augusta Seed Family!”

Quick Reference Technology Guide
LL - LibertyLink Traited corn. Allows for the use of Liberty herbicides.
RR - Roundup Ready® Corn 2. Glyphosate tolerant corn. Allows for the use of glyphosate (Roundup Ready®) herbicides.
CL - Clearfield corn. A naturally selected herbicide resistance (non GMO). Allows for Lightning/Pursuit herbicides.
CB/LL - Agrisure® CB/LL provides season long control of corn borer and glufosinate herbicide tolerance.
GT/CB/LL - Agrisure® GT/CB/LL provides tolerance to applications of glyphosate and glufosinate, plus corn borer
protection. RIB - Refuge in bag. In non-cotton growing counties this allows you to plant your fields without having a structured refuge. In cotton growing counties a structured refuge is still required.
GT - Agrisure® GT glyphosate tolerant corn. Allows for the use of glyphosate herbicides.
GTA - Glyphosate tolerance plus Agrisure Artesian®, which converts water to grain more effectively.
VT3Pro - Genuity® VT Triple Pro®. Provides above and below ground protection from corn borers and rootworms, along with glyphosate tolerance. Also reduces the refuge requirement from 20% to 5% in non-cotton growing counties. In cotton growing counties it reduces the refuge requirement from 50% to 20%.
3000 - Agrisure® 3000 triple stack helps guard against corn borer and corn rootworm in addition to tolerance of
in-season applications of both glyphosate and glufosinate herbicides.
3111 - Agrisure Viptera® 3111 controls both above and below ground pests such as rootworm, corn borer and ear worm. It can be used with both glyphosate and glufosinate herbicide programs. It also has been shown to preserve grain quality by protecting against mycotoxins.
3110 - Agrisure Viptera® 3110 controls above ground pests such as corn borer and ear worm. It can be used with both glyphosate and glufosinate herbicide programs. It also has been shown to preserve grain quality by protecting against mycotoxins.
VT2Pro - VT Double Pro®. Has multiple corn borer resistant genes that allow for reduced refuge. Does not contain rootworm resistance.

“I am real happy with A2340. I planted it the first week of June and it has looked great all summer. It had good vigor and grow off with little disease. I’m looking forward to harvest to see the results. Based on the way it has performed this summer, I’m planning to plant A2340 again next year.”
Glen Weaver - Millmont, PA
“My grandfather convinced me to plant some early corn to get started with. The A2340 (90 RDM) averaged 171 dry bushels per acre on a 45 acre field. This included 5 acres of tough dry land. It stood well, dried down quick and had nice flex.”
Jay & Jim Baxter - Georgetown, DE
“For years now we have relied on A2847 (97 RDM). For an early corn or after barley this one never disappointed us!”

A2954 has proven to be an excellent hybrid in both stressed and optimal environments. It has tremendous ear flex, which allows for lower populations on tougher soils, but also good top end yield potential if planted under irrigation or bottom land. Expect good standability and quick dry down. We do not recommend this hybrid for corn behind corn situations.

A2956DC5222EZA2956 is a very healthy 106 day hybrid with fast dry down and a large girthy ear. It will work well with low to medium populations because of its ear flex. A5658 is a medium sized plant with medium ear placement. It has great ear flex, so plant at 22-26,000 plants per acre on tougher ground. On good dirt or under irrigation, don’t hesistate to push it to the 30-34,000 range. It has excelled in NC, TN, IA, and IL, topping many of the state trials and independent tests (i.e. the F.I.R.S.T. trials). Not recommended for corn behind corn north of the Mason Dixon Line.

“I really like the early dry down of the Augusta 5658. It was the first corn I harvested and it was dry. The Augusta 5658 is a shorter plant with low ear placement. It stood well and had a really strong root system. Since my rep advised me it has tremendous flex, I lowered the population and picked 180 bushels per acre on some lighter soils. I am very pleased.”
Don Rawls - Watha, NC
“This is our third year with Augusta 5658 and it has earned a place on our farm. We really like the size of the plant and the early dry down. It always yields with and in most cases out performs competitor hybrids. We will be planting even more A5658 next year. A5658 averaged 200 bushels per acre in 2017.”

A4959GT3110 109RDM A4959 has some of our best ever yield potential in the mid-season maturity range. It has very good grey leaf spot tolerance combined with excellent grain quality. Exceptional dry down and high yields will be its hallmark. We recommend it on better dryland ground or irrigated ground.
“This year we planted 4 Augusta hybrids and they all look really good! We are particularly impressed with A4959 and A7767 which are yielding 200 and 230 bu/ac respectively and both have exceptional grain quality.”
Donnie, Charles & Joe Anderson - Statesville, NC
“I have been planting several of the Augusta Seed varieties for the last 3-4 years and have been very satisfied with the results. Most of those seasons have included a lot of hot and dry stress! This year I am particularly impressed with A4959. It started off too wet then turned off dry but this hybrid is looking really good! I can’t wait to start picking to see how it does!”
Bradley Grubb - Advance, NC
“The Augusta 4959 had some of the most impressive grain quality of any corn I used this year. It averaged 225 dryland bushels per acre. I would recommend this corn to anyone.”
Glen Pendleton - Elizabeth City, NC
“I was very impressed with how the A4959 performed this year. It put on a nice ear and showed some good ear flex. The A4959 averaged 180 bushel and my A7767 went 190 bushel. I am pleased with my Augusta corn.”

A0720 has performed admirably under most conditions, but especially when confronted with the stress of dry weather. It waits on rain and maximizes all it gets. This hybrid takes our A0606 and shortens it by about a foot, plus adds a little more ear flex and girth. For best results, use in rotation instead of corn after corn.

“We planted the new Augusta 5062 this year and were very pleased. I snapped most of the A5062 for deer corn but I’m confident it would have averaged 175 plus. It had big nice ears and looked really good all season long.”

We like this hybrid because it provides top yields with high quality grain. It is a taller hybrid with strong roots, stalks and solid agronomics that make it will suited for delayed grain harvest or can fill the bunker as silage. Plant at medium to medium high populations on dryland and responds well to high populations when under irrigation. A great companion hybrid to A5062.

A6164 brings plant health, grain quality and standablilty to the table. That being said, it is a great choice for dairy farmers due to its feed value. It will stand a good deal of stress, so it can be planted on many soil types. A6164 is a favorite for ground where leaf disease is a known issue, so river bottom land and continuous corn after corn land will thrive with this plant.

This is one of the shorter, fuller season hybrids with great dual purpose capabilities. It tends to put on a large ear, whether planted at 22,000 or 32,000 plants per acre. Another bonus is that even under ideal conditions it rarely gets above nine feet tall, while maintaining maximum tonnage due to its ear size. It will be highly digestible feed that cows will really turn out milk from, plus very large and deep kernels which will turn out bushels for grain.
