LEADERSHIP
SESSIONS
• Over 100 hours of in-person training on topics such as team dynamics,
self-awareness and emotional intelligence, empathy in communications,
conflict management
• Opportunity to meet prominent leaders who regularly join our sessions as
guest speakers and facilitators.
SELF-
ASSESSMENTS
• Fellows participate in various self-assessments as part of the program
(including a 360) to help plan and map specific paths for development.
TEAM PROJECTS
• Fellows form multi-sectoral and multi-functional teams to tackle on-the-
ground civic issues.
• CivicAction works with Fellows to connect them with other civic leaders
and influencers, and create change in our communities.
NETWORKING
• The Fellows program provides a unique platform to connect with fellow
participants, guest leaders/experts, and project stakeholders.
• Fellows are also invited to attend events hosted by CivicAction partners
such as the Canadian Club of Toronto and the Canadian Urban Institute.
MENTORING• Each Fellow is matched with a respected civic leader to engage in an open
and honest dialogue on civic leadership and contribute to each other’s
personal and professional development.

Invite two references (professional and
personal) who can speak towards your
leadership competencies to each complete
one.
Fill out an online application form and submit
the two recommendation forms as well as a
2-page CV.
Selection Process• Applications are reviewed by a Selection
Committee of representatives from different
sectors and communities in the GTHA.
• Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend
an in-person interview, which includes a
group interview and individual interview.
