Dear clients and colleagues:

We are delighted to invite you to join us for the 2018 Americas Global Employer Services Conference at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas, on Monday, February 26 and Tuesday, February 27, 2018. The conference begins with a Welcome Reception on Sunday evening, February 25, as we get ready to kick off sessions starting Monday morning.

In planning this year’s conference, we leveraged the ongoing feedback provided by you - our clients - on what you expect as part of your conference experience. We have designed this year’s conference to provide a unique experience for you that includes a spectrum of creative, technical, and forward-thinking topics. We have built a program that will provide you with multiple learning formats, personalized agenda options, collaboration amongst peers, and meaningful networking opportunities.

We are excited to announce our conference theme - Mobility for a digital world - that focuses on the unprecedented shift mobility, rewards, and talent professionals are facing to keep up with the ever-changing digital landscape. We will bring enhanced awareness and insights on how digital transformation is having a profound impact on organizational strategies and operations for cross-border talent programs. We will set the stage for today and the future and explore the possibilities as to how digital enables new types of innovation and creativity in mobility, talent and rewards.

We also invite you to join us in one of the two Deloitte Greenhouse Lab experiences that engages participants to collaborate, push boundaries, and design solutions to challenging issues by disrupting conventional thinking and spurring creativity. Space is limited for these sessions, so sign-up early in order to secure your spot!

Finally, given the fast changing pace of the geopolitical environment we will also bring up to the minute insight and impact analysis on tax developments from across the Americas – including the very latest on US tax reform. Whether your focus is on technical content, operations, strategy, or a combination of all three, conference attendees will benefit from robust discussions developed to test mobility’s current state and potential future and how digital will impact this journey. Our sessions will offer technical knowledge and innovative solutions to tackle opportunities and risks facing today’s global organizations.

We certainly hope that you will join us this February at Deloitte University. More information is available within this guide and on our registration page.

Should you have questions, please contact a member of your Deloitte engagement team or either of us. We hope that you are as excited to join us as we are to welcome you!

Digital mobility experience

Mobility is a life event impacting many dimensions - family, finances, career plans, to name a few. However, despite the level of importance, employees rarely receive a cohesive road map of what to expect, the process is often overwhelming with numerous contacts and repetitive tasks, and tasks are driven in isolation with limited management of interdependencies. Mobility is transforming the employee, HR and business experience. Our panelists will tell their organizations experiences around administrative process, customer and analytics.

Strategic Digital Pioneers

Digitally mapping your global workforce

Imagine having the ability to globally source and match internal and external candidates to a specialized position with an analysis of quality of talent, cost to relocate, and speed to relocate at the click of a button. With the rise of the contingent workforce and the gig economy, companies will need to be nimble in applying alternative talent acquisition techniques. Coupled with the need to provide smart choices for the business, mobility must be able to provide rapid deployment solutions using new digital technologies. We will explore the impact a digitally mapped global workforce could have in the future and ideate on how to take this concept to reality.

Through existing Cooperative Compliance initiatives, there is an opportunity to build a process to reduce individual compliance and focus on existing employer processes to reduce the burden of tax filing on the employee. Listen to our global team explain what Cooperative Compliance is, what opportunities exist, current case studies and what to do next. This is a step towards the future!

Perspectives on global immigration trends: new challenges and opportunities for your global workforce

Recent changes shook the global immigration landscape this year, with developments around Brexit, US immigration policy, and other global developments. Immigration policy has become highly politicized, with some governments tightening up existing rules to make it more difficult to secure visas and cross borders, while imposing increased immigration compliance requirements on host company sponsors. Against this trend, other governments have introduced flexible strategies, recognizing that business travel is increasingly becoming the pattern of global mobility for many organizations. Our panel of subject matter specialists will discuss the current global immigration landscape, underlying trends, and best practices for the future state. 1

The Mobility organization of the future

For two years in a row, organizational design has emerged as the most important trend in Deloitte’s Global Human Capital Trends survey. As Mobility programs become more digital, they face a growing imperative to redesign themselves to move faster, adapt more quickly, facilitate rapid learning, and embrace the dynamic career demands of our people. While service delivery model drivers such as cost savings, employee experience, or business partnering have not changed, the tools at our disposal are presenting new opportunities for how organizations structure their Mobility programs.
