As I sit here writing this, I look back to all that has led up to this moment. The hard work of our production team, the cast for giving it their all, and the DLO board for giving me this opportunity to finally become something I have wanted to be for quite some time: a director. I am in awe of it all. I’m still waiting for the world to stop spinning! Throughout my entire theater experience, since about the age of 12, I have wanted to be a director. My goodness, did I guess wrong on how much hard work it takes! I have a new and ever-growing respect for any director that has given their heart and soul for a show as I have with Sister Act. Sister Act is a show close to my heart. I remember watching it as a girl with my grandparents and mother thinking, “Wow! Sisterhood is so powerful!” With the blessings of the DLO board, and with a LOT of help from my production team, I was able to bring my love of sisterhood to the stage. In the world today we all need a little love spread around. We could all use a sister, or a brother, right now just to be there for one another. To say that you are not alone. To show that there is love all around. Love is the most powerful emotion. Love drives us. Love conquers all. And love will always win. This show, to me, is a wonderful example of that.

~To add a personal note, I would like to dedicate this show to the man that always shows me all the love in the world and more, along with our two beautiful girls.

Melanie Clark (Mother Superior) was last seen as Ursula in DLO’s The Little Mermaid. Melanie lives in Chrisman with her husband Steve and their dogs Max and Corky. She is Mom to Joshua, Sarah and Damien. When not on stage, she enjoys being a hermit, posting pictures of her dogs on social media, and eating tacos.

Zach Carlson (Cop) This is Zach’s first show with DLO, and he’s having a great time! He was a member of DHS Band of Vikings, Madrigals Brass, and Danville Heat hockey team. He would like to thank his mom for getting him involved in this show.

Andrea Troxel (Choreographer) Andrea has been a dance instructor at Roselawn Dance since 2009 and has taught ages ranging from preschool to adults. Some genres under her belt are ballet, jazz, tap, acro, and hula hoop! She worked with DLO last summer on James and the Giant Peach Jr. and is super excited to be working in Sister Act with this amazing crew!

Mac Waites (Ernie/Cabdriver) was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Mac trained at Paige Parks Center for Modeling and Acting, and has been doing community theater in Danville since 2012.

Phillip Bryant (Sweaty Eddie) made his DLO debut last year in Violet, but he has been passionate about music since he was a child. His talent was nurtured on gospel melodies at home and at his church, Old Landmark. Phillip has been blessed to have the opportunity to share the gift God has given him, traveling throughout the country, ministering through song and laughter. He has performed in gospel stage plays, musicals, live recordings, spoken word events, and comedy shows. Videos of his comedy and ministering events have been widely distributed via social media (often over 50,000 views). He greatly appreciates the support of his family, friends and fans!

Dave Schroeder (Rehearsal Accompanist) is delighted to be involved with Sister Act after music directing Shrek the Musical for DLO. David keeps busy directing the Municipal Band, Vermilion Festival Chorus, and teaching Band at Bismarck-Henning/Rossville Alvin Cooperative High School.

Jeanne Dunn (Sister Mary Patrick) has been involved in 19 DLO productions since 2004, three times as a nun. She loves performing, but really loves directing, and directed The Spitfire Grill (2010), La Cage aux Folles (2015), and Violet (2017). She genuinely treasures her theatre friends and her dahling husband Chris.

Jean Faw (Sister Mary Theresa) After protraying the roles of mother and letter carrier for 23 years, Jean is excited to be a part of her first “official” stage production. Jean would like to thank her son, Jon, and her extended family and friends for their support in this new adventure. Also thanks to the amazing talent of DLO for accepting her with open arms and making her feel like a real Sister!

Jodi Prosser-Muller (Vocal Director, Mentoring Director) is very happy to be involved in this production! As is her “habit”, she is wearing multiple hats for Sister Act, as vocal director, mentor to the director, assistant costumer, and even assisting with a little bit of the choreography. Oh, and she is also a nun! She is the 2nd VP for the DLO board and will be directing this summer’s youth musical. Past DLO credits include Lily in Secret Garden, Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd, costumer for A Little Night Music and director/choreographer for both The Great American Trailer Park Musical and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Thanks to Sidnee for her vision, and to the cast for being awesome!“What’s more fun than a nun? A BUNCH of nuns!!”

Sonnia Crowder (Sister Mary Martin-of-Tours) is happy to return to the stage in this production of Sister Act. While most recently seen in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, her dearest role was Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. She has also appeared in Shrek The Musical, Oliver! and Ragtime, to name a few, and worked behind the scenes in both mainstage and children’s and teen productions.

Sara Todd (Tina) This is Sara’s second production for DLO, and she couldn’t be more eager to work with all the cast and crew members involved. She can’t wait to bring you sass, rhythm, and a whole lot of fun! “A special Thank You to our director, Sidnee, for rocking her first production and allowing me to be a part of it. Enjoy the show!”

Chris Huffman (Music Director) This is Chris’ 7th DLO show, and her 5th as music director. However, this one is extra special, as this is her first show with her son Zach. She hopes you enjoy the show and the music as much as she does!

Sidnee Gordon (Director) is a seasoned actress who has countless shows under her belt including The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Shrek the Musical, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Brandon Parks (Curtis) is a Chicago native and has been performing since he was 5. He was a member of Danville show choirs for 6 years, and has worked as a hip-hop choreographer. He has performed on stages all over the world, including New York City, Nashville TN, and even Europe!! Brad Pollert (Monsignor O’Hara) is thrilled to be performing with such an amazing cast, including his grandson Nathaniel. Brad appreciates all the effort this cast has put into this production, and can’t wait to get these nuns out of their habits and teach them a few bad habits.

Nancy Keener (Sister Mary Lazarus) works out her theatre addiction with DLO, Red Mask, and the Station Theatre and is excited to be back in front of the curtain for this show. Thanks to the directors for the opportunity, and to this cast and crew for the blood, sweat, and tears. Thanks also to Memphis for enduring scheduling irregularities. No apologies for the Folk Mass fiasco of ’67. #GotTheBoogie
