ACT President’s Message
What an amazing night the 2017 NAWIC ACT Annual Awards for Excellence was. Our largest event since the event commenced in the ACT in 2010, it just gets better and bigger every year.I am continually encouraged and excited by the number and quality of the nominees for our awards again this year as well as the support shown by the companies and individuals that attended the evening promoting genuine support of the women in their organisations and more broadly the Construction Industry to excel. Our most prestigious Crystal Vision Award provides the accolade for those who actively promote the participation of women in the construction industry by encouraging their progression. The Diversity and Inclusion Award confirms a commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion in the construction industry.
ACT President’s Message
This year JLL were rewarded for their role as industry mentors and promoting a culture of developing and promoting women. They are leaders in empowering women in the industry to excel and achieve their full potential. As a Council of local industry volunteers we are immensely proud of not only of the success of this year’s Annual Awards but, more significantly the gathering momentum that NAWIC ACT is currently experiencing. We have a fabulous and energetic Chapter Council in the ACT who work tirelessly to keep the women in construction connected; supported; educated and empowered.Like any non-for-profit organisation we can’t exist without the financial and backing of our sponsors. I thank our sponsors for putting their faith and support in our vision, our brand and our ability to provide returned value for them and for our members. As we grow as an organisation and increase our representation at the ‘table of change’ I invite our members and sponsors to continue the journey with us.Lisa Dart | ACT Chapter President 2017
